Discussion How long to Platinum + 100% complete main game and DLC?

Post image

Hi Everyone, I have a question. For folks who have done it, how long on average does it take to get the platinum trophy plus 100% completion for Witcher 3 + all DLC content? I’ve never played it (going in completely blind) but I’m considering tackling it. I’m a completionist, so I’ll go for all the trophies for 100% completion. For reference, I recently completed my platinum for Red Dead Redemption 2 which took me 428 hours so I enjoy a long platinum challenge. Will this game take a similar amount of time? I love open world games with a good story and a good fantasy theme, so I’m very confident I’ll really enjoy this game. I’m not sure why I’ve never played it, but I hear the remaster for PS5 is great. I’ve included a pic of games that I’ve really enjoyed and completed to 100% so far…Thanks!

100 hours if you really rush through it is possible, but I’d say around 150 hours is more realistic if you pace yourself normally. If you pace the game out really well you can definitely hit 200 hours

Thanks. I typically take my time, immerse myself, and spend a lot of time exploring. That’s why I logged so many hours with RDR2. I just loved being out in the wilderness hunting and exploring. I’m thinking I’ll really enjoy this one as well!

took me 8 years but i wasn’t aiming to get the platinum i just kinda decided last minute cause i played it so much over the years that i had the majority of the achievements so i just did the last few which was easy. my guess is it would take somewhere around that same as red dead 2 with dlc and all.

I'm in a similar position to you. Going to start this game in the next few days.

From what I've been seeing it is a long enjoyable grind to the plat. Some people have advised against going straight in on Death March difficulty but I've read you can do plenty of side quests to keep you levelled high enough. Also, keep an eye out for missable trophies.

Good luck

Platinum in the witcher game is easier than in red dead redemption. And faster. No damn orchids and online trophies. The only thing you need to pay attention to is the Gwent cards. And I recommend going through the game first and then playing it for Platinium.

RDR2 platinum is a league of it's own when it comes to platinum length of an open world game.

Even before considering that there's multiplayer trophies.

Think of Witcher 3 like RDR2 minus the rng elements of what you still need appearing.

I havent gone for it, because there's a handful of trophies i refuse to go after (Master Marksman being the main one) but i reckon 100 - 200 hrs is the norm.

Highly advise going for it on a second playthrough though. There's a ng+ where you can get every trophy except for the blood and wine DLC where's there's two trophies for two different endings and a highly missable one when the DLC starts.

Also, I use a gwent card tracker App. Makes things 1000x easier. Dont worry. Gwent isnt like gambler 8/9/10. Its like the final dead eye of the game. Very satisfying
