Not the worst pick but idk. Probably some better ones out there too. I like Tom Hardy in his other stuff

He’d be good, but he probably would want to wear something over his mouth and do a weird accent

At first, I was trying to imagine what Hardys version of a 200 year old Albertan accent would sound like. Then I imagined his character in The Revenant and the boys from Letterkenny

1

u/thethunder92 5d ago

Haha I’m an Albertan and that’s hilarious

I’m imagining him wearing a hard hat and drinking a monster and asking his friend if he can “spare a dart bud”

I really wish they would lean into his hoserness more, like he talks about being Canadian all the time, let's hear him sound like it

u/thethunder92 5d ago

Maybe I should be the next Wolverine I think I would nail it

2

u/CLNBLK-2788 5d ago

I don't know you, but I believe in yoy

I would like to see Daniel Radcliffe or Taron Egerton to try. At least Daniel would look nice like young Logan.

I saw Jared Keeso as a casting suggestion for Wolverine just recently. And I honestly can't stop thinking about it. I think that could be amazing.

u/Aquagoat 6d ago

Oh yeah I agree. If he got cast back then instead of Hugh it could have been great. Turns out the casting agents knew what they were up though, as we all know how Hugh's run turned out.

Hes such a bad actor though, imagine the crappy accents he uses for characters and what we would have used for Logan. I used to think he was ok, until I saw venom, he was absolutely terrible.

He's very capable of being a good actor. However, he now often seems to choose big pay checks for minimum work and seems to resent even that.

It's referenced a lot, but Bronson remains proof that he can turn in an amazing performance - when he wants to. I don't think anyone can watch that and say that he's terrible.

You dont need to explain that he's a good actor.

He's not trying to put in any award performances anymore but saying he's a bad actor is a braindead statement.

I concur on Bronson being his best performance. Absolutely magnetic in that film

Tom Hardy is a bad actor? Unpopular opinion to say the least.

Right there with you. Watching him play venom has made me not want to see him in anything ever again 😂

He is a good candidate, although now he's more suitable for a Old Man Logan version, but I think he could have had a good run if Jackman never was cast.

You should have included some Tom Hardy as Wolverine fan-art pics alongside the pic you posted. It would help others see him as the character. There's some good options to choose from.

I absolutely love Hugh Jackman as Wolverine but still believe Tom could be the best.

2

u/C4rdninj4 6d ago

He's certainly got the chops for it.

2

u/RobRaziel 6d ago

I've been saying/wanting this for over a decade.

2

u/AncientMatter1042 6d ago

Maybe, but the next Wolverine actor will likely be younger so that Disney can sign them for longer. Tom Hardy is nearly 50 and said the Venom role kicked his ass, I doubt he’ll play another superhero.

u/KolonelK88 5d ago

Poor phrasing but yes

1

u/Glittering_Pear2425 6d ago

I kind of see it

1

u/BrowniesWithAlmonds 6d ago

Too old now but when rumblings started happening about Jackman retiring, Tom Hardy was one of the front runners to take over.

1

u/FightingDreamer9 6d ago

I don’t find his voice perfect for the character

1

u/crypticXmystic 6d ago

I guess, with enough alcohol and lube anything is possible.

1

u/Logical_Astronomer75 6d ago

That's how I was born

1

u/bchin22 6d ago

Ehhhh. Maybe I guess? Definitely not in my top 20+ choices that’s for sure but you do you.

1

u/Cold-Funny-7355 6d ago

I agree, time passed by though. 15 years too late. We got Logan instead.

1

u/Delicious_Chip3391 6d ago

He’d make a better SabreTooth.

1

u/BulletProofEnoch 6d ago

He would nail it now

Wolverine was created to look like a 50 year old man

But doesnt want to

1

u/Logical_Astronomer75 6d ago

50 for Wolverine, is basically 10 for the average human

1

u/BulletProofEnoch 6d ago

No, he’s meant to look a 50 year old normal man

Jesus

1

u/AdditionalInitial727 6d ago

He was my choice for it.

1

u/aboynamedbluetoo 6d ago

Was that ever in doubt?

1

u/dionethemad 6d ago

Love him but nah!

1

u/No-Play2726 6d ago

Who's that?

1

u/RoleVisual8734 5d ago

Imagine pulling up to the BJJ competition and seeing that bane is your opponent

1

u/hoodafudj 5d ago

I said that when they considered replacing Jackman after Logan, Hardy would be a great wolverine

1

u/Rider_204 5d ago

Still can

1

u/Gonzilla8472 5d ago

Definitely

1

u/Ape-manifesto 5d ago

Pulled him off to completion though?

1

u/Indirian 5d ago

I would rather see his take on Frank Castle.

1

u/Specialist_Table9913 5d ago

Is that a Judo gi?

1

u/Expensive-Track4002 5d ago

Henry Cavill gets my vote.

1

u/Sufficient-Step6954 5d ago

Why stop at Wolverine? If you’re gonna pull off one superhero, be nice and pull off the whole crew.

1

u/ZDMaestro0586 4d ago

Not too late, but yea. Besides Clint Eastwood maybe, but he’s comically more accurate and definitely DEFINITELY would’ve been better than Hugh. And Hugh has been great.

I mean Tommy Riordan was Logan without claws essentially.

1

u/Rock_Star_Ken 4d ago

Still could

1

u/Miserable-Yard-7671 3d ago

Meh.... Not a fan of the tats

1

u/BungusFungus89 3d ago

Coulda sucked off batman also

1

u/northernsuede 3d ago

He'd be great, but God do I want a short Canadian next!

1

u/FatKody 3d ago

Kinda gay bro.

1

u/LaunchpadMcQuack_52 6d ago

Tom Hardy's accents aren't good so I dunno.

1

u/PhillGuy 6d ago

Is he 5 foot 3?

0

u/Shot_Imagination_368 6d ago

Am I supposed to know who this is.

5

u/Crosseyed_owl 6d ago

Tom Hardy

2

u/Shot_Imagination_368 6d ago

Damn didn’t even recognize him feel kinda dumb.

2

u/Crosseyed_owl 6d ago

That's okay, you don't have to feel dumb 😂

2

u/peanutbutterdrummer 6d ago

I had no idea he was also bane in dark knight - crazy range this dude has.

-1

u/Daws001 6d ago

I don't see it.

Idk if you're being sarcastic, do you know who that is?

1

u/_Luckey 6d ago

I’m just gonna delete my comment

3

u/AWholeSliceofPie 6d ago

No worries mate, I agree that Mcgreggor would also be a bad pick for Wolverine! A younger Tom Hardy though would have made a great pick imo.

0

u/raqloise 6d ago

Would wolverine have a squeaky, stuffy-nosed Brooklyn accent?

Tom Hardy seems to have one American accent in his repertoire.

0

u/ConnectionIcy3717 6d ago

He would also probably have the funniest accent with a squeaky voice somehow 🤣🤣

0

u/NoSpecial284 5d ago

No way. I can’t stand this dudes take on venom. We would have goofy cringe wolverine.

0

u/OkOutlandishness6550 5d ago

Nah cavill takes it no contest

-2

u/String2924 6d ago

No he couldn't. He would suck.

-1

u/Zerus_heroes 6d ago

He certainly couldn't pull off Bane

-1

u/Significant-Age9592 6d ago

Nah, Wolverine should be a Clint Eastwood type, not a rubber lipped Londoner.
