Other YSK That many people with a disability consider their aides (wheelchair, etc.) an extension of themselves. You should ask before touching or moving them.

Read this article and was surprised to hear how many people struggle with this. Even if you are trying to help, you should ask first.

I wouldn’t particularly mind, but only if it was coming from a friend. Not from a stranger. I definitely joke about me being all sorts of screwed up. Makes things seem less awful.

You can either laugh or cry because of some things, I prefer laughing.

Me too. Especially when I stand up and my heart rate goes through the roof. I’ll just sit right back down and be like “well, guess my body said noooope.” It helps that my best friend’s also disabled, and that for some reason our bodies tend to crash at the exact same time. Which is hilarious.

POTS? I have EDS and some form of dysautonomia so I know that feeling.

Yep! Probably hyperPOTS, but waiting on a tilt table in August to figure out the specific type.

I wouldn't mind, burst out laughing after reading it. But most people wouldn't like it.

I would be fine with that. Assuming it wasn't said in a derogatory manner. Though really you would have to be somewhat good friends with someone to be able to play that one off.

Though my friends use to jokingly say I was completely illiterate to unsuspecting folks. I had some fairly mild dyslexia. They actually convinced a few folks, it's really funny to see how someone acts when they think you don't understand writing.
