Advice i quit meth?
wanna start this off by saying im very self aware and i never really liked it enough to do it each day until i started really struggling and resorted to using it as a means to survive, im a downers type girl, im 18yo and when i was 17 i fell into meth addiction which led to psychosis pretty much the entire time i was on it, 5 months, it ended with me in the psych ward, i went off it for 3 months after and relapsed once during, since relapsing i reconnected with someone who has been a massive support person but uses meth, i didnt use meth just ghb pretty much everytime i hung out with him except maybe 3-4 times in the past 4 months, i totally would stop if it was having a negative effect on my life and i do when it gets to that point (as well as said support person talks w me about it), i just dont see it having a negative impact if im being careful with it, is this just an addicts way of thinking or can i party every now and then, i need some opinions

It will only get worse.
Drugs are not the problem.
Why you are using them, is.
The addition is the car. What you are running from is the fuel.
You have to face whatever pain/fear/shame or your addiction will grow.
Because your pain level will the more you run from it. Remember this, you will never be able to outrun your pain. So turn around and face it. Charge it head-on. And do what you have to do and take the stuff that you have to take to resolve it. That's what I told myself. It worked for me.

It has been 7 months since you were a daily user. You ended up in hospital for psychosis. Since then, you have used less than once a month and you don't see this having a negative impact on your life if you're "careful with it". You are 18 years old. You have a support person who is a meth user, and you use meth with him.
I am a former daily meth user. I am surprised that you feel this way after ending up in a psych ward. In my opinion, you will struggle to maintain any kind of discipline about the frequency or amount of your use. This is because use of this drug will directly alter your brain chemistry such that you will need to consume more of it to reach the same high, and the comedowns will get progressively worse, which will lead to you wanting to take it more frequently. Even if you tell yourself, "I will only do this once a month", and keep a diary of your use, eventually you won't care about sticking to that schedule.
You say yourself that your period of daily use came about because you "started really struggling". External stressors are always a risk, but simply taking the drug will also affect your ability to cope with stressful situations, and will also cause negative emotional states whenever you stop taking it. On top of all that, your judgment and ability to exert self-control will be directly impacted.
Aside from that, the drug is really bad for your health. Also, you have to deal with risks of fentanyl contamination (risk of death), problems with law enforcement, loss of focus on improving your life circumstances, and other issues.
If you read the Reddit forums about addiction, you will be hard-pressed to find anyone who has enjoyed long-term moderate use of methamphetamine. If people are still using, it is either because they haven't been able to stop, or because their lives are so miserable that they just don't care any more. There is a third category, which consists of people who haven't yet worked out that they are doing enormous damage to their lives - this is where you are right now.
