Just received email from Amazon saying they will no longer allow drivers to deliver to my side door and no longer put packages in my mudroom. My front door, however, is visible and unsheltered, so this new policy means the driver will be leaving packages where they are accessible to porch pirates, where they will get soaked in the rain, and where they will be buried under snow in the winter. This is more of a complaint than a meltdown, but when my packages disappear or arrive water-damaged, the meltdowns will begin.

I also got the email about no more side-door deliveries. The thing is, our side door abuts the driveway, while the front door is up a hill. This should really get exciting during our New England winters.

I'm going to leave side door as the preference, maybe the drivers will be able to exercise some discretion (I'm assuming, since Amazon asked us to change it, that it will still be visible).

Ordered two beautiful Japanese book nook puzzles for my daughter, shipped next day. For her birthday! The package arrived on my porch, addressed to me. The package size seemed very small.

Inside was: 2 cans of Eucalyptus Foaming foot scrub with pumice, and a pack of 8 oz spray bottles.

The return slip they printed to include claims I am returning the puzzles, even though I specifically said that they sent the wrong items! I noted on the slip that I included the foot pumice and spray bottles that were in the original package. I have no puzzles to return!
I thought you all had this down? Now they are two days out. I hope they arrive. I hope I don't get more foot pumice. I hope my return is not denied because I didn't send the non-existent puzzles back.

Amazon sent an email that they won't deliver to side or rear doors

I just received an email that they will no longer deliver to anywhere but the front door for the driver's safety. This will actually make the driver's job harder in my situation. How does this make sense? Is this affecting anyone else? What motivated this change?

If you have a "side" door that's still on the front, I would update in the delivery instructions which one you prefer. My house has a main front door (that no one ever uses), and a covered "side" door which is also front-facing. That's where packages are to be delivered.

I made an order during Prime day for several Blu-rays and a board game. They sent me someone else's order. Then for whatever reason when I did the refund/replace process, they wouldn't accept my address that was originally on the order and I had to return the wrong items. So due to their error, I had to make a trip to the UPS store and another trip to an Amazon Locker. Then to add another kicker, the item that couldn't be replaced was just denied a refund because "the item we received shows significant damage or is substantially different from its original condition, falling outside our return policy guidelines." I gave the (wrong) item they sent me to UPS in EXACTLY the condition I received it. Mistake or not, this is Amazon flat out stealing from me.

Pre-Ordered an expensive book- paid in full-five months in advance to ensure I receive the book-I was emailed to say that my book is arriving “Tomorrow”- on the day of delivery- I got a mail saying that the ETA will now be two months from now- depending on stock.

IF, 1000 customers pre-order an item-Amazon should ensure that they have those 1000 promised items on the day of release.

There is absolutely zero point in pre-ordering from Amazon anymore- they will accept your money then renege on the delivery promise-this wasn’t the first time it happened- but it’s most certainly the last- lesson learned.

I got that dumb email about front porch only deliveries. Porch pirates are having a party to plan their next moves! Delivery instructions are for a reason. Good luck with that Amazon. You will be spending way more money refunding stolen packages that the productivity loss of a driver walking an extra 50 feet to put a package in a safe location that isn't visible from the street.

This business of delivering to front doors only is ridiculous. I'm a New Englander; everyone knows we don't ever use our front doors.

Why did they remove the weight from the product information section of all products? That information was very useful.

Ive ordered a package 3 weeks ago, delayed, ordered one a week ago, delayed. Both came 4 days late. Ordered a package yesterday said it would come today, delayed until 26th. This doesn’t usually happen 3 consecutive times. I got Prime.
