Amazon Pricing is going crazy

What are amazon playing at, This is an invited item and should be at RRP value of 18.99 and they have wacked 49.99 on it. some thing really needs to be done with them scalping the market like this.

Edit: to add to this the price has changed for the same thing about 5 times today. ranging from 49.99 down to 36.10 and back up again. (sold by amazon invite),
I am keeping my eye on it for when it actually goes to the right price.

No one's asking you to order it. If you don't like the prices, move along. Stop complaining about every single thing. People like to make profits, so move along.

This is shipped and sold directly by Amazon. Amazon are a retailer so they go by MSRP. This is a common issue with Pokémon products invites.
The page shows a higher price because there is insufficient stock but is due for a restock soon.
Since OP got an invite, he will get the opportunity to buy it at MSRP as soon as the restock updates and it will be within 3 days.
Happened to me and thousands of others. Just wait it out.

Just annoying when they invite you to it and then give you only 72hours to purchase it so I can bet a lot of people fall for it and then realise afterwards.

if they fall for it, then they are kinda stupid imo. because the price on your post is higher than on places like ebay. lol

The most shocking thing is that people do fall for it, on the binder collection it was displayed at 30.99 and I thought that was the right price until I had already ordered it as it should have been 24.99 . When I did realise Amazon did refund the difference as it was their “mistake”.
The fact they are letting AI control the prices is beyond stupid. You could probably break Amazon pricing by listing as “item like this” listing and flooding loads of items instead of at £5-10 which the seller is trying to sell them at. Instead list your price as £100-200 and watch the ai hike the retailers price to match.
Common sense has been taken out of the equation and AI makes the decisions.

If every person who complained about card prices just stopped buying, the prices would drop. But kinda like gas and eggs, it will never happen.

Tbh I haven’t bought any black bolt packs and just focused on white flare this set because it has been absolutely horrendous to even get a few packs. I have so far managed to pick up about 15 or so packs of white flare and for MSRP only. I won’t pay scalper prices as like you said, people will buy them and fuel the problem.

Same thing just happened to me, price on google was X, same on amazon when following link. Soon as I logged into my account (which I pay for prime) it went up by £3.20. I logged into an old account I never use (without prime) and bought if for the original price. wtf

I have checked again and today’s it’s back to 33.99 again but that’s still well above the MSRP of 18.99 there system is such a joke.

It's $0.25 of paper. If they can get some kids to pay$50 for it, their gonna.

These fools in the comments don't know anything. Holy fuck some of you guys are imbeciles.
Amazon is an official retailer of Pokémon products. They do sell by MSRP.
The price you're seeing is the "out of stock" price that the Amazon AI automatically set.
Since you are invited by the email link, the price you pay should be MSRP. And since you're invited, it means a new batch of stock is due to hit the warehouse.
You need to wait a few days for the price to update. Keep checking every so often. The price WILL go down.
The whole point of the invite system is so buyers have a fair shot at paying MSRP for a high demand product. If the page has scalper pricing, what is the point of the invite system then? Think.

If the point of the invite system is for invited people to be able to order at MSRP then it should show invited users that price in the first place. It's one thing for scalpers to sell higher than MSRP, but for Amazon to do so even on invite-only stock is the opposite of "giving everyone a fair shot at paying MSRP."

The reason is because there is a delay in the stock arriving and the price updating.
Regardless, there are people who said Amazon refunded the difference after the fact.

Your reply is negated by the fact you open it with an insult. In your terms, grow the fuck up.

This is part of what's ruining the world today. Sure people can be nicer, but ignoring facts due to someone being exasperated at stupidity is itself kind of stupid.

The vendor is primarily responsible for pricing. This is not a sold and ship by Amazon item. Then it would be cheaper.

Be careful. I bought a similar Pokémon item shipped and sold by Amazon. It came open. They searched the packs. Put them back into the packaging and returned it. I would never buy Pokémon products from Amazon again. Their return fraud is running rampant.
