What could be going on at this warehouse?
Some additional context: I live in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Over the past month, anything I, or my parents (who have their own account but live at the same address), have bought from Amazon (specifically items that have been shipped through them as well) has gotten “stuck” in Gaylord. This is my third order of these items, the first two I canceled and got refunded for, because they made it to Gaylord and then kept getting delayed. I’m also wondering why only one part/package of this order is being scanned. All three parts of the order made it to Gaylord on the same day, but only one has been getting the “carrier delay” scan daily.

It's a common issue with that place, they won't ship it STRAIGHT away!
Sorry, I see myself out...

This is only an issue with Amazon shipping. Stuff shipped with UPS or USPS makes it up here just fine. Our main Fedex hub is also in Gaylord, and I’ve had no issues with them either.

It’s lost and the tracking software keeps looking for updates and then publishes meaningless information. Call customer service and demand a resolution.

This happened with an item I ordered. I contacted customer service and they said it would still be delivered even though it was stuck at some warehouse.
After two weeks I insisted they resolve it, so they sent another one, which arrived two days later. The original package arrived the following day. I received an email from Amazon indicating that I needed to return the duplicate item immediately. They gave me two days to return it, after making me wait 2 weeks.

They cannot make you return a duplicate item. Also their policy says you have 30 days to do a return like that. When they ship a second item they always end it with if the other one arrives you can keep it or dispose of it.
Quit your bullshit.

Why wouldn't they make you return a duplicate? Why would they just give away stuff for free???

I worked at Amazon. This many delays in one day typically means there has been a problem in the warehouse - most likely the dock. It could be a power outage, a computer glitch, mechanical failure, ect. Then they have to try and play catch up fitting all the missed shipments with the new. It’s chaotic.

Amazon is shit now, that's what's going on. Cancel your prime account and just start shopping on other websites, the good days of Amazon are over

Oh my goodness that’s insane.
We ordered some chairs last week to Chicago. They left Atlanta, and went to Indiana, Chino CA, San Bernardino, City of Industry, Phoenix, Yeso NM, Niles IL, and finally delivered to Chicago.
Absolutely crazy.

This is a wide spread issue that primarily happens when Amazon ships a package from one of their warehouses via UPS or FedEx and then the package is handed off locally to USPS or Amazon Delivery Services for what Amazon calls "Last Mile Delivery".
After the product arrives check the delivery report and see if the package was initially handled by UPS or FedEx and then transfered to your local USPS or Amazon Delivery Services. I am willing to bet that is what is happening as we use to see this all the time until Amazon opened 3 new local Amazon Warehouses. We will still occasional have this issue when products are shipped from other warehouses and most of the time it involves UPS and USPS. For some reason USPS seems to have difficulties with packages being transfered over from UPS. We ended up fixing the issue by signing up with UPS for their UPSMyChoice service. It's only $15 a year but UPS will deliver your packages instead of handing them off to USPS for last mile service. You will also almost always get your Amazon packages a day sooner as well since UPS will deliver the package the day they get it rather than handing it off to USPS.
Earlier this year we were having packages come from Amazon's Seattle Warehouse and they would show up as being handed off to our local US Post Office, but the next day they would show up as being returned to the warehouse and then they would be shipped overnight via UPS or FedEx back to USPS. When we contacted Amazon about it they would only say that they were having issues with their last mile delivery transition service with UPS and FedEx.
I hope this helps you.

Not sure why it keeps happening with this one warehouse but this kind of tracking information in my experience usually means the package was damaged in transit. Sometimes I still get it and when I do, the box is pretty banged up and it looks like it busted open and they taped it back up.

What are the odds of this happening with three orders though? And that’s just on my account. I don’t know how many orders of my parents that this has happened to. I think this warehouse might just be overstocked and understaffed because it probably covers a good chunk of northern MI. But, other than not ordering from amazon, I don’t know of any way to avoid packages being shipped through them. Again, anything through USPS or UPS is and gets here on time or early. It’s JUST amazon logistics that is screwed up for us.

Weather, people quitting on the spot, traffic, any number of things.
I’ve had that come up when they close highways for accidents. I’ve also had things they delayed because it was too hot and it might melt.
FedEx will usually have weather alerts on their tracking page, so could look at that too. Sometimes, they transfer to a post office, so that could be delayed.

Same deal, different location, paid extra for an item Amazon said was in stock, delivery next day, today I get an email saying there is a “processing delay” at an Amazon facility, if it’s not there by 09/02 I can request a refund!! I’ve had this happen several times lately, and with Prime Video being a joke now ( any movie made in the last 30 years you have to pay additional) ain’t no way in hell I’m gonna pony up 139.00 to renew it.

Tell them you want to replace your items. I had this problem recently, and they will give you the runaround. My items only showed up because I made them replace them. They even told me that I canceled the first order, which was a lie and never mentioned that the previous times I spoke to them.
