While not changing the actual anime that is currently available, it could have an influence on future releases of the series. But more importantly, it will have a negative impact of the general view of the franchise when the live action version ultimately ends up bombing.

I am sure it did. That movie was complete azz! I know I not the only one that had a more negative view of the franchise because of that movie.

A live adaptation always ends up boosting the sales of the original regardless if it's bad or not. It never has had an impact in the general reception of the public towards the original. Followers of the original work won't suddenly stop liking a manga or book because the movie adaptation was bad. Also
