even if we think of it in “well akshually technically” sense, yeah ofc you yourself don’t kill all the cancerous cells, not even your immune system does in most cases - your body accidentally makes cancer (“punching yourself”) and your immune system (your “arm”) misses it, then you go through treatment, but that treatment isn’t killing off your entire immune system (in most cases, and even then it’s just a part of an entire treatment).
if you want to be evil, at least think of a better “burn”. but again, i don’t think in these categories and might’ve missed the wittiness of that guy idk
Except cancer is not your body. Your cells are specialized little workers all doing their job to maintain a healthy system. Your body. Cancer cells are not part of that system. They don't work, they leech off ressources and grow to to problematic sizes, impeding on the workers ability to do their jobs. They have nothing but their own self interest at heart.
It’s like my body is a little society of cells, and the cancer cells are the nazis. Terrible things, but very persuasive. It’s down to the soldiers (white blood cells) to destroy the nazis before there are too many nazis to defeat. Better analogy.
iirc the person commenting was saying he shouldn’t be too happy about “beating cancer”. Pretty sure they compared it to amputating an infected limb, “nothing to be happy about”

People on this subreddit say other o words to mean original. It started with another sub. This person was sarcastically confused when you said original
I checked the original post, checked the comments, and sorted it out with controversial. And wouldn't you know it, it's people complaining that the OOP is just "karma whoring" his cancer post. Another thing they're complaining about is that r/pics should just be changed to r/cancer with how frequent pictures of cancer survivor patients gets posted there at the time. Allegedly OOP was also "complaining" about some downvotes on his post, but I couldn't really see for myself. A lot of the comments there have already been deleted.
