Folks, what we've done, nobody's ever done it. They said, "Mr. President, you can't start nine world wars." I said, "Watch me." And we did it! These weren't little wars, believe me, these were the best, most tremendous wars!

Everyone likes War until they spend 2 seconds on an actual battlefield, most people who yearn for War are people who’d never in their lives will experience being a part of it, everyone thinks they’re the Cool Wolfenstein guy who beats up all the bad guys with cool weapons, when in reality, they’re that guy in the background of saving private Ryan who gets shot in the back the moment the troops open fire and inconspiciously dies.

It isn't even nostalgia. These are people that never went to war but were fed propaganda to think war is great and that there's no greater honor than to go die in foreign soil so their
countryelites can get richer. Funny enough these are also the ones that didn't join the military and now are old and out of shape so they try to push the younger generation to do it in their place.1

Also, according to Google, 0.6% of Americans are transgender, so anyone thinking that's representative of 16-year-olds as a whole needs to get off of their weird corner of social media and touch some grass and actually meet some people because they'll find most people identify with their birth gender and a lot of the people that don't are still sociable people and don't necessarily break any easier than people that are happy with their birth gender
(although I did look it up and apparently roughly 0.65% of Americans are 16 years old so assuming 100% of trans people are 16, that's roughly 7.7% of 16-year-olds that are NOT trans, but obviously there's more than 16-year-olds that are trans)
24
u/GoreyGopnik Jun 23 '25
the people who post this sort of thing grew up in middle america in the 60s with parents too old to be drafted into vietnam and never being old enough to be drafted into it themselves before it ended, going through an educational system funded by a government that was trying to justify a 50 year long nuclear pissing contest, and exceeding the draft age by the time the next war came around. They never saw war, they still think trickle down economics works and communism is the foremost threat to american society.
7
u/Addison1024 Jun 23 '25
Well, has gone to war and wasn't some sort of legitimate psychopath who enjoyed it
41
u/WholeDragonfruit2870 Jun 23 '25
Hilarious that they'd make Bugs Bunny the face of a meme mocking kids for not wanting to go to war.
Known manly, anti-woke, pro-hierarchy character *Bugs Bunny*. Who's had several appearances in cartoons making fun of the military, and even outside of this is consistently AGAINST authority and hierarchy.
As always: media literacy is not their strong suit.

u/42ndIdiotPirate Jun 23 '25

"War is where the young and stupid are tricked by the old and bitter into killing eachother." - Niko Belic. It's a damn shame that War happens I propose that the populous of the world unite and kill the "old and bitter" so that we can stop War in general War is senseless killing that does nothing anymore. All land is owned by some country or another we just need to accept that fact and ignore everyone else

Ngl, I recently made an Armenian friend that told me about the Armenia VS Azerbaijan conflicts, I did a little bit of research and it broke my heart. In 2020, they had a war that went on for only 1month and 2 weeks, Armenia genuinely lost 3.8k people out of a population of 3M. So if you went to Armenia in 2019, 1 person you'd see out of 1000 died in the meantime because of the war. And it seems like they were all volunteers!!! According to a testimony on r/armenia, there were more volunteers than weapons to bear....
Now I don't know how things were on Azerbaijan's side, but the sheer fact that a friend saw all of that and that, that a genocide could've happened, and the fact that I didn't hear of it at all was kinda soul crushing. The world isn't like I thought it was

1
u/Islu64 Jun 24 '25
They didn't have the balls to fight
They were FORCED to fight
Also, their actions didn't ensure our peace
The creation of the atomic bomb is what ensures our peace
In other words, whan ensures our peace is not the bravery of our ancestors, but rather the constant threat of the horrors they brought into this world being used
