Nah, that's a misconception, radical feminism just means a more systemic approach to viewing inequality (not saying it mainly lies in economical / political / etc. dimension, but that's it's rather a whole institution of patriarchy). I'm a radical feminist myself and definitely don't indiscriminately hate men, even though I do hate the system as it is
Genuinely 80% of the posts are just ''men are inherently evil, disgusting and sub-human, why can't they be like women'' and ''misandry is justified but also not real'' whilst spewing about how empathetic they all are 💀
Another hillarious detail you might like, I decided to sort by 'most contreversial'. And you know how they're constantly like "We're not TERFs!! We love trans women!". ALL the most downvoted posts were the trans-positive ones lmao.
These people are so deluded and hateful they manage to borderline so many fascist ideologies.
I don't agree with all the things typical feminism advocates for, but I'd support feminism a hundred times over whatever this shit is.
Oh good the worst parts of second wave feminism/political lesbianism made manifest. That's just radical bigotry. It's impressive how they manage to be misandrist but also this weird ass backward kind of misogynist at the same time
Interesting observation! Like, childbirth or waxing and some others on the list are indeed instruments of control over women, or at least capitalize their insecurities, but the answer should be aimed at industries, not women. Same with prostitution which I consider amoral - women are victims and should be protected, which should be clear in feminism
I’ve met radfems and they were VERY vocal about hating me, first time as a white guy that I was told to kill myself for being a white guy, brought a tear of joy to me
Although, your forgetting that at least the USA has 340,110,988 inhabitants, that subreddit has 16 thousand and by the time I am writing this, just 10 are online. How many people that called themselves you actually meet?, let me assume and say it were 3 and even if they were - let's say - 10, it's still not a big enough number to really describe or affirm that the whole perspective is like that.
Besides remember that there is people that will know nothing about any kind of ideology but call themselves that ideology and in the Internet is even easier, so always that you see a bunch of people that calls themselves"Radical Feminism", they probably doesn't even know what is it.
And as an extra, there is actually a sort of logic fallacy about generalise anyone just because of few and it can apply to any kind of groups or things. I don't remember the name but it must be on Wikipedia or other sources that talk about fallacies.
However, I am not trying to defend that "Radical feminism" subreddit, it is really filled with ideas that... eh... you probably know already.
Yeah, I don't disagree with that. Those two are really bad for anyone, probably even to those that fell on those type of contempt and prejudice based thoughts.
I haven't really met any man that call himself "Incel" more than the crazy ones in the internet.
And now reading more of what you wrote, I think you got a point. For some reason, and now that I read on Wikipedia (and I will need to keep looking for information) about radical feminism, it's notorious the discrepancies between that definition of Wikipedia and what I have read on certain spaces and including your experiences with as you call radfems... it's like "the patriarchy" transversed to "All men bad" motto of those that call themselves "Radical feminism" and that almost genocide views.
With the rest you said, I agree, perhaps I may be falling on that Not True Scot thing as well so I need to watch out that too.
Anyway, I am already quite of tired at this point of the night, so sorry if there is something that is not well understood, it was nice to read your side and thanks as well for part of your time you gave to respond to my reply.
