Society Why are commenters on videos like this so braindead?
https://youtube.com/shorts/YyJSZsuqLI4?si=cfWql07nVXlvFQyD
I see this on reddit as well, Koreans say that they don't know anything about India, maybe there's possibly a misunderstanding and they didn't mean to come over as racist, and the response is just a wave of utter deafness and detachment from reality. I wish i could say it wasn't specific nationalities, but that clearly isn't true? They claim that Koreans all act racist to them, but the average Korean likely doesn't even think about their country

We don't really have any idea on India - only curry, song and dance lovers, the origin of Buddism. Those who gives hatred sentiments on India are mostly far-right Internet warriors. TBH; everyone needs media literacy to think critically. When someone objectifies another nationalty or ethnicity, they end up being objectified themselves too. Every person has different ideologies, classes, languages and skin colours, so they can't be identified as just one. I remember what happend between Korea and Vietnam or the Philippines in 2020, Korea and Japan/Taiwan a decade ago, and what's happening between Korea and China at present. We have to be chill and watch cuties from r/aww

A Korean immigrant lady once asked me and my mom if were are Koreans and when we said we were Filipino, she said "looking good" as if she expects Filipinos to be ugly. 👀

So actually some Korean brand opened factories here in India, one notorious case was this Kia factory in Andhra Pradesh that had some discriminatory policies against Indian workers.
Imagine a Toyota factory in Ulsan or a Lenovo office in Seoul actively discriminating against Koreans, would that be justified anyhow?
But yeah, some Indians get butthurt too easily when they learn some other country doesn't think about them much, pretty annoying ngl.

Feel bad and annoyed to hear that. It is true our companies and chaebols lack the morality and social awareness compared to even the bare minimum in Western ones. It's not looking good at all bruh.

Many folks from my country are misbehaving abroad too, we all have rotten apples :)
I believe we all will improve soon, we're all just opening up to the world now.

To be fair, the average Indian doesn't know much (if anything) about Korean culture either. Lately there's been quite a bit of anti-Indian sentiment worldwide - both as a result of Indian idiots misbehaving abroad + bot farms trying to push a particular agenda - which has led to a counter-wave of defensiveness (i.e. calling out racism, even when it isn't so). The few people (Indians) I know who went to Korea really loved the country and had many stories about the kindness they experienced, so take what you see online with several grains of salt.
