Culture Do you think South Asian culture is closer to SW Asian culture or SE Asian culture?

I think southern and northeastern indians are culturally similar to southeast asia Other parts of India feel very different
Again as other commenter said, parts of southeast asia (most of vietnam, philippines, eastern indonesia) have limited influence from India

South Asia isn't a monolith. A Pashto person has more in common with an Iranian than a Burmese. Likewise a Naga person has more in common with a Burmese than an Iranian. It really depends on which culture you are talking about.

We genetically and culturally have more in common with Turks than we do with even Bhutan. So SWA

We meaning North Indians and Pakistanis, We South Indians have a different genetic group, also culturally southeast asia.

Yeah, the Dravidian groups (only 4 states, I think) and Sri Lankans would be more SEA and such. Most of the rest of us are mixed with a lot of things

We are mainly closer to west and central asia. Because of the many rulers and traders that came from that region over the millenia.
