South Korean media appears worried since Ishiba was seen as an individual that values its neighbors and placed importance in cooperation between South Korea and Japan. Two possible PMs that they are predicting are Takaichi Sanae and Koizumi Shinjiro, neither of which South Korean media appears too fond of, especially Takaichi who is basically seen as the Abe-esque hawkish far-right and will deteriorate the friendly mood between the two countries. Koizumi is seen as the better of the two but he is seen as too much of an uncertainty where his language and actions have sent mixed messages in the past.

As a whole Koreans are not too fond of LDP (although LDP is a huge umbrella party with different factions within it) but it is a reality that they are the strongest political presence in Japan and as outsiders we can only hope to have a more liberal leaning factions within LDP would win it

I can't wait to see news of the meme provider becoming a PM. Jokes asides, I don't think there'll be a big change if the year 55 system keeps going.

It won’t change anything. Pretty much LDP is what’s wrong.
