Слава Україні! 🇺🇦 In Ukraine, like everyone, those whose lives are bound to the land have also been drawn into the struggle for freedom. Oleksandr Hordienko, a farmer and deputy of the Kherson Regional Council, spent three decades cultivating his fields.

When Russian drones came, he defended, with a rifle, shooting over 100 from the sky. He cleared mines to make room for crops. He saved workers during shelling. He endured because his country needed him.

Last week, Russians killed him with a drone strike as he worked his land.

This is the reality of our war: ordinary citizens compelled to extraordinary duty. Farmers, teachers, doctors, entrepreneurs - all standing in defense of Ukraine’s existence.

Oleksandr Hordienko’s name should be remembered. He embodied the principle that free nations are built and defended not only by armies, but by their people.
