It will depend on where you are and what company you work for but I make $21 an hour.

We pay our guys $20/hr to start, major East Coast metro area. Benefits, generously matched 401k, etc.

I feel the same way, was surprised by it. Compared to other places in the area, we're paying a higher than average wage and providing better everything for our guys. They work M-F and the FDs cover it on the weekend. We're not SCI, just a big mom'n'pop, but have a large SCI presence in our area so we're acutely aware of what is being offered elsewhere and make intentionally shape our package to be better.

Yes yes sci bad we all know. But the care centers aren’t all that bad to work in.

Truthfully. I worked for SCI in 5 different markets. The company itself isn’t bad. It all comes down to individual market leadership and what division you are in. Major and mainstreet get all the resources and capital. I can’t remember what they call the small more rural markets but they are definitely the step child. Most of these locations are on the divestiture list and get zero investment and either hand me down equipment or very limited resources. The flip side of that is those locations can be harder to staff so pay and job security are usually better.

I think you’re spot on. It isn’t some black and white issue
