Politics (Other) Ever since I have heard about the Venezuela and Trump's situation and I have just recently seen this what do venezuelans or in general Latin Americans think of this?

There is a British comedy show from the 1980s. And this line gets funny in context. https://youtu.be/QYHwgQLvjqs?si=n-4bcnkSC0rzMobA

This is just Trump creating distraction and press for himself. It makes him look like a “strongman”.

He wont do anything. He does not want to save Venezuela, he does not care about the “drug cartels”, he does not want to deal with Venezuelan refugees after an invasion.

This is just a dog barking.

Only way he would do anything is if Maduro makes the first move, which he wont because it would be the dumbest thing in the world.

The only thing that might make a difference is that they have a fuckload of oil and… you know… 🦅

Do they love oil as much a they hate mass immigration? 😂

Well, these fuckers just expanded the ICE budget by $75 billion and are only getting more violent and exterminationist. They’re also preparing to do special operations in Mexico against drug traffickers (who knows who will actually be targeted?) and have just announced that they consider the strategic resources of LatAm to be of the United States’ national interest. Presumably they want to renew and reinforce the Monroe doctrine.

But who knows, I hope none of the things they talk about come to pass

Mexico has made it clear they're not letting American troops enter. Which means that if the US actually wants to do anything, they would have to go to war, and it would be one of the biggest disasters in modern history.

I've talked about this with a few people, and most think it wouldn't happen because there's too much money and risk involved. The only thing that has me worried it might happen is because they might actually be dumb enough to do it. At this point, I wouldn't put it past them.

But Trump has talked about interfering since like 2017, he's mostly all bark when it comes to invading Latin America, I hope it stays that way for all our sakes

I certainly hope you’re right. I’m just worried the dog has caught the car, especially now that we’re just beginning to feel the effects of climate change.

It's definitely a Marco Rubio project, but it's just to cause noise

This is Trump trying to distract people from his connections to Epstein, his best friend.

I think he made some sort of deal with Russia to stop protecting maduro, bc that guy lost all of his courage really fast.

Idk what's gonna happen, but 4000 marines deployed, it's not just to go on vacation.

US foreign policy has been a cancer on this planet since way, way before Vietnam.
