I was gonna suggest that you could fit a wheelchair in there, before I realized you can fit a wheelchair just about anywhere else without doing this.

I seem to remember it actually being designed to include wheelchair users.

My friend who is relying on a wheel chair to do anything found it ridiculous. It makes no difference, when you can just sit right next to the bench.

Edit: requested rephrasing

No, it is designed to be anti-homeless. The wheelchair angle is the fig leaf. Someone above pointed out you don't need a hole in a bench to sit in a wheelchair, the wheelchair could be anywhere. The person in the wheelchair is already always sitting.

honestly as someone in a wheelchair the back of the bench would probably block the handlebars meaning it would be more effort than just sitting next to it

wtf are you talking about..you have access to the wheels right? I know people in wheelchairs that like to sometimes sit in the middle instead of off to one side all the fricken time..a bench is not a homeless shelter either ffs

the handlebars used to push the wheelchair from behind push against the back of the bench pushing you slightly forward, it would be better for wheelchair users if it was just 2 seperate chairs instead of being connected

It would be a lot easier to hide the anti-homelessness of it all too. Looks like they included a bench backing in the middle just to let it be known they're assholes.

have you ever volunteered to help the homeless?

Never any more than helping a homeless person I meet on the street. Why, what does that have to do with anything? Do I have to physically engage in every issue I have an opinion on, because If so we need to add a few hours to each day.

Bruh.

They aren't taking the disruption spot. They're taking the visible one to get help. You fucking black hole brain.
