I'm in shock. I can't believe multiple strangers were willing to help me with items for my two 2 year olds. I'm so touched and have been in shock all day. Thank everyone SO MUCH. I'm truly at a loss. And as soon as were back on our feet, I'll be back at this subreddit helping others.

My dog has idiopathic epilepsy, and she is currently on phenobarbital. I was almost evicted and had to use all of my money to go toward my rent, and I don’t have the money to refill her prescription. Her vet office will not work with me, I cannot use good RX because I already used the free trial. And it is $65. If she goes without this, then she will start having seizures. I am desperate and I don’t know what to do to get this medication for her. Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated.

My long term partner came home today and told me she found someone new and took all her things and left. She told me she is buying herself out of the lease and we will have 2 months to figure something out but we were left with 7 days to make $1600 or find somewhere to live.

I am now completely alone in Houston with just my daughter and myself. I have no money and no job and am either going to try to get assistance to stay in my current apartment or need somewhere we can live to get on my feet.

I have been looking for a job with no success as of yet but am still looking every day. If we can not figure something out I don't know what else to do.

If anyone can offer any help such as a low cost rental, a job, or money for rent I would be externally grateful.

I had my first heart attack a week and a half ago.. it runs in my dad’s family, my dad had his first heart attack at 40, uncle had congestive heart failure— I’m almost 36, thought I was too young for this to happen, but, alas. It’s a really scary time. I’ve had to pay an insane amount of copays including simple primary visits for lab work (my enzyme levels were insanely high but they want to see more as the days go), additional ekg’s and X-rays, and now discussing doing an MRI and more forms of heart-monitoring this week. Every time I’ve gone in so far (three visits plus I haven’t even included the ER bill), I’ve had to pay $150 each time, making it hard for me to have all of the rent for the beginning of September. I did seek out rental assistance but it was already too late, and my parents just honestly don’t have much, so it’s all coming straight from me. With the math I’ve done I’m looking to be ~250 short on rent and the lights. even my landlord (private owner who’s usually extremely nice that I have a good relationship with) is still saying he has to give me a 10 day notice if not paid on the first. it’s all ridiculous because I told him the circumstances and while he was empathetic, he still “couldn’t work anything out”.

We just ran out of cat food. I knew we were out of dry food but I didn't realize that last night was the last can. I do not get paid until next week. I don't care if I have food but my fur babies have to eat! I would like to get them both dry and wet food. But the dry is what is out daily for them so that would be a priority.

I am entering my third year in medical school in the eu.(6 year program) and really need help to buy used med textbooks sold by older students at a reduced rate at the start of the school year. Since getting pregnant I've had frequent dizzy spells and heart palpitations, and drinking sports drinks with electrolytes is the only thing that helps (this was directed by my doctor). The last 2 years have been the hardest of my entire life. My wife gave birth to our fraternal twins, and I have never been so happy or loved someone so much. Then everything fell apart.

I lost my job due to a corporate merger, I had been with the company for 6 years and had moved up into management, but we were the first to be let go. That started a spiral, and I have lost almost everything. We had a car repossessed, we had to declare bankruptcy, we've relied on food pantries to get by, and now we're behind enough on our rent that were being taken to court.

I dont know what to do or where to turn. We dont have family that can help, in any way. They're not local, so they can't even watch the kids or help with them while we work, which had made finding a job so much harder than it already would be. Im scared. I dont even know what im asking, I'm just grasping at straws at this point.

I didn't even know this subreddit was a thing until a few hours ago. Im not even sure what im asking for. I just am out of options. If somehow someone could do even the tiniest thing to help it would be appreciated. I dont expect handouts, though, either. So many people are hurting now. I was able to get on the hardship program with my credit card debt earlier this year to lower the interest rate and essentially pay half of what the minimum payment had previously been. It’s now about $120CAD a month. Unfortunately, what savings I had left after my contract job in the spring (feb- beginning of may) has been depleted. I live with my parents and they’re also on a hardship program and in a consumer proposal. They have been able to help with my smaller bills but it’s a paycheque to paycheque situation these days. I’m working on obtaining another job and selling items, but it’s a slow process. If I could have some buffer with $240CAD to cover two months, it would be enormously helpful.

Hello, I live in Arkansas and receive SS Disability and am a 3x transplant recipient. I wanted to ask if there are any organizations that help disabled people buy homes. I live in someone's house but he is wanting me to move out and I have no idea how to go about this. I have pets so none of the public housing or rentals in my area want people with pets making ownership is the only other option I see. Any ideas or help is greatly appreciated.

I was recently fired after 5 years at my job for a simple infraction. (July 25th) Was given no warning or write up and was fired on the spot. I signed up for unemployment but it’s taking forever. I had $400 saved up before I got fire and that money has drained quickly over the month. (Bills , food and transportation to interviews) Luckily my roommates are giving me grace on rent until the checks come. But I’m currently out of money and can no longer actively get to interviews so i stopped and I also ran out of food.

Just looking for something that can get me a weeks worth of groceries from dollar general. $30-50 but honestly I’ll take whatever and just walk to quick check and get a sub and eat half today half tomorrow. I’ve been surviving this past week on 1 pouch of oatmeal a day praying unemployment transfers the money.

Hello guys. I hope you’re all well. I’m currently working as a house cleaner (freelance, no contract), and this months has been very difficult to get by, since most of the clients have gone on vacation.

I luckily have found some other odd jobs in the meantime, but the money is not enough since I have a debt with my landlord (previous late payments), so all the money I do is to keep paying him and stay under a roof. I am blessed to say I will completely pay him off on late september.

Hi, I'm Ginger (F30). I've been struggling with homelessness basically my entire adult life because I'm neurodivergent and came from an abusive family who I haven't heard from in almost a decade. My health has been declining for years but has gotten worse since Covid. I now experience excruciating back pain which makes me unable to stay on my feet for long periods of time, passing out that happens after any strenuous activity, and excruciating daily migraines that cause extreme nausea and confusion. My doctors are doing all they can, but I can only really afford the low cost clinic that is $10-20 per appointment and doesn't do all the testing on site and I can't always afford to go to get the other tests because the state of Alabama is denying me both medicare and the affordable care act due to my income. (I'm appealing this.) I've applied for disability and have contacted many charities in my area but have heard nothing back. I am now on food stamps. I have exhausted the few friends I have by couch surfing and accepting money but I know everyone I know is struggling financially so I can't go to them for help. As I said, I have no family to ask help from. I'm trying to make $500 by the 1st of the month and hopefully by then I'll be able to work something out with my job, which is barely giving me hours at the moment. I'm really doing everything I can to support myself but it's becoming hard.

we are siblings of 8, and I'm 2nd oldest. i am currently away from home cause i left there because of my mom, I'm currently supporting myself through my part time job, i get paid 3,000 philippine pesos ($53) a month, minus the rent for my boarding house. i get sidelines and stuff to pay for my other school fees.

recently my mom called me telling me she's pregnant again, and she's gonna give up my 2youngest siblings for adoption, i said no but she said if you want then get them.

i didn't really want to give them up, so i convinced and made my landlady understand they have no where to go, since my boarding house payment is only for 1 person, she said she will allow it but she will raise the rent by 3,000 Philippine pesos, which is literally my salary for the whole month, i tried to negotiate but since the rent also includes water, wifi and electricity and i wouldn't be able to find that deal anywhere i couldn't do anything to convince her to lessen it a little.

i already go to the police to ask maybe what other things i can do but all they can offer is DSWD which is a safe place for kids but they will be up for adoption.

I'm a writer from Czechia, currently trying to find a publisher for my work. I earn some income as a tutor on a small private language school. That, however, means that I don't have income during the summer holidays, save for some extra lessons with acquaintances or ocassional small gigs (like translating stuff etc.).
I have to pay an equivalent of $100 every month for health insurance (in my country, employers usually pay the insurance of their employees, but the school only allows a type of contract where I have to pay for it out of pocket). I usually manage to budget it out pretty well, but this year, I've had some unexpected expenses and I'd very much welcome any help to get me out of the broke territory.
It doesn't bring me much joy to request here, especially when there are probably people who need assistance more than I do, but any help won't be forgotten and I'm determined to pay it forward to other people in need if I ever publish and get on stable footing.
