What if Uncle Iroh and Yoda swapped places.

Yoda solos Ozai during the day of the black sun, while Iroh teaches all the Jedi to deflect lighting with their bare hands, removing the Sith's biggest advantage.

I love this. I never noticed the similarities:
Both were major leaders in a war, both lost in a huge way and isolated themselves from the majority of the conflict. Both of them gave off a harmless vibe until they revealed their true strength, and both taught an impatient young man a skill they themselves were the master of. They also both show up in a spirit/ghost form in a sequel series.
Though the difference show a lot too. Iroh chose to stick with Zuko every step of the way at every chance that Zuko let him, but both Obi-wan and Yoda were very hands-off with raising Luke.
Another comparison I noticed: Iroh tried to ease Zuko into understanding the kind of person his father was, while still being honest. Iroh was similarly honest with helping Zuko understand who his sister was. Yoda and Obi-wan did absolutely nothing to help Luke understand what he needed to know about his father and sister, much to his detriment.
