I’m sorry. I am so sorry. In the age of tbs and wgn. Him and Dale Murphy were like childhood friends.

We played whiffle ball as the Cubs vs. the Braves all summer long bc of those broadcasts.

Me too even though I was nowhere near those metros. That’s the baseball that was always on TV. He was a legend in his time.

Was my brother's favorite too while mine was Grace. But that infield was wonderful. Dunston to Sandberg to Grace.

WGN made so many Cubbies across the country, myself included. Even being a Redleg by birth I have and always will have a soft spot for my division friends in the Cubs

Seriously. Cubs by day. Braves in the evening. And oh the fun when the cubs and braves played each other going back and forth between tbs and wgn

for sure, TBS made me a Braves fan but, I also had a small fondness of the Cubs and Ryne Sandberg was a major part of it.

I grew up in a little town in northern Ontario, and as a result always cheered for the Jays. We used to have 2 tv channels, but then cable slowly started to arrive and we got WGN and TBS. I’d never cheer for the Braves, being Indigenous but I could always count on WGN and the Cubs, and Sandberg became my favourite Cub pretty easily. I finally got to visit Wrigley and see a game a few years ago, then I was lucky enough to be able to see a second one there. I’m so sorry for the Cubs and their fans today, you (we) lost a great one today.
