Was it an upper decker?

Must be our lucky day! Got two runs off this one instead of the standard slovenly solo shot.

Judge would have to have one of the worst final months of his career in order to lose the MVP to Raleigh. He's still easily the favorite

He's only 0.2 fWAR ahead of Cal. Not "easily" the favorite by any stretch

Nobody cares about microscopic differences in war. They're going to look at the AVG OBP and slugging difference, especially when the home run totals are pretty similar.

I don't disagree with you, but it's not a very popular opinion on this website.

E:And that's not to say I don't fully disagree with the argument that Judge is the MVP. I do not think someone that can't play defense and has been out for over a month is in a position to be MVP when you have a player who plays as great of defense as Cal does and has already tied the most productive seasons of all time for one of the most important positions of the diamond. There's still a lot of time left. It will be interesting to see how it boils down but anybody who wants to disillusion themselves that average, on base and slug have lost relevance is insane. Add to that Judge is a big name in the biggest market on the east coast is just delusional.

E2:Has now broke the record.

can't play defense and has been out for over a month

Judge wasn't out for anywhere close to a month. Cal has only played 7 more games.

And Judge plays perfectly fine outfield defense. He's not a plus, but he's also not a negative like Soto

We'll see if that's enough to make up for the massive difference in hitting stats

especially when the home run totals are pretty similar.

they aren't though, and that is ignoring how historic it is for a catcher to be doing what cal is.

Well there's this guy.... his name is Arson.....

With Judges injury it’s getting harder to argue otherwise tbh…

Cal has batted .173 in August. He slumped even harder than Judge did. Judge is still very much the front runner.

That's your bias talking. Try letting your underdog hype man talk

Just being real for you guys

1

u/OccasionalGoodTakes Seattle Mariners 16h ago

its funny how that only seems to go one way with yankees fans

-2

u/buff_001 New York Yankees 15h ago

I'm just saying that you guys might be disappointed just because of how bad Raleigh's other hitting stats are compared to Judge

-4

u/SoupKitchen22 16h ago

If they miss the playoffs do you think he has a shot?

That pitch was almost square center over the plate

1

u/Seoulja4life 13h ago

The catcher was literally asking for it.

7

u/ChuckDirty Seattle Mariners 16h ago

What a pitch 😂

He's 0.2 fWAR behind Aaron Judge now.

Fuck everyone who thinks that Judge is so far ahead of Cal Raleigh that this isn't even a race

1

u/FroyoMNS New York Yankees 16h ago

I haven’t really seen that take ever since Judge’s injury tbh

9

u/down_by_the_shore 16h ago

There are people with that take in this thread

3

u/Top_Professor_9908 16h ago

Goddamn, what a bomb

3

u/[deleted] 16h ago

He should be getting more mvp consideration. His value as a catcher is so much more significant than judge’s as a right fielder. And not o ly is the contribution significantly more, but the difference between him and the next best catcher is also significant added value.

1

u/down_by_the_shore 16h ago

MAKE IT 49. THATS OUR MVP.

1

u/Drummers_Beat Toronto Blue Jays 16h ago

Crazy because he’s going to get close to 60 and still may not be the MVP. Actually insane.

u/atzatzatz 16h ago

He's obviously juicing.
