The usual verification guidelines:

- Some pre-writing is accepted but at least the username must be written out on video.
- At least your hand + forearm should be visible.
- When finished writing, while still on video, crumple the paper and flatten it back out to reveal the words again.
- Upload to Imgur (or your alternative platform) with audio ON.
- Video should be no more than 30 seconds.
- No editing is allowed on the video beyond basic video trimming to shorten it to the 30 seconds, if needed.
- Some further instructions on sending media: https://imgur.com/gallery/b7j9R
Optional steps:
- To add your flag(s) to your user flair, feel free to mention your country of origin and/or nationality in your modmail message or the video itself (spoken or written)
- You can speak in the video if you feel it will help with verification.
- Face is not required.
- Showing some hair texture is optional but can help with verification.
Things to note:
- The color and contents are the main differences between the old verification picture method (orange flair) and the new video method (blue flair).
- If you received an orange flair after submitting the video method, we'll look into it and fix it.
- To upgrade to the new flair please submit your video verification – generation and cultural background included (flag optional).
- You can use Imgur or an alternative image hosting and sharing platform (e.g. Flickr, Photobucket, Apple Photos, Streamable and so on); it just can't require us to sign-in, emails or other personal information.
Thank You ✊🏿✊🏾✊🏽

Selfie Pics & Videos 🤳🏽🤳🏾🤳🏿 What do you think about reformed racists ?
So this white guy used to be a racist and was part of the Aryan Brotherhood. Now he’s longer racist, ditches his derogatory tattoos and he’s a mixed race child what do you think ?

Discussion Fellow black men how do you guys overcome embarrassing, awkward, and cringe moments? And how do you guys not obsess and live in the past about mistakes and stuff you guys did?
I think about all the times where people embarrassed me in front of people at pass jobs, schools etc. Not speaking or standing up for myself. Getting yelled at or cussed out in front of people etc. All the weird things I’ve said to people and how I rubbed people the wrong way. How dumb I looked in front of people and the “shitty things”I done. All the cringe jokes and stuff I’ve said to people etc. All the times I was too loud and spoke /screamed when I was mad at people etc. Sometimes at night the memory will hit me and I’m like damn why am I worried about that? That was like 5 years ago etc. How do you guys handle this and overcome it? I try not to waste the time and mental capacity worrying about it by trying to live in the moment more, listening to music, working out etc.

Humor & Satire 😂 Media: "There's a male loneliness epidemic!" Meanwhile I'm in the crib in my drawers and a durag like...
To my brothers, do NOT let the media dictate to you how you feel and what you think.
There's a lot of propaganda out there meant to tear us down and make us think we ain't kings in this mf.
Please focus on the things you have and can control. Having an abundance mentality will keep you sane during these strange times.
Oh, and don't waste time and energy and sacrifice your mental on these females. Women are great but most of them ain't wives and have no interest in being one. So just enjoy your turn when you get it and keep it pushing.

Discussion A question on forgiveness...

Everyone here should be familiar with Elizabeth Eckford who was one of the Little Rock Nine—the first group of brave African American students to integrate Little Rock Central High School in Arkansas in 1957.
Well, behind her screaming like a rabid chimp is Hazel Bryan. Sometimes we ask ourselves, what happened to those white supremacists we see in photos, y'know, the ones pouring milkshake on folks' heads during "sit ins". Well, Ms. Bryan backpedaled and claimed she was only doing it to get out of class 🧢. She met with Ms. Eckford, many years later to reconcile.
Now my question is this. What is the extent of forgiveness we give these people and under what conditions? I realize black people who have incurred some sort of infraction are NEVER forgiven in the court of public opinion. Really, think of every black person who has fell out of the public's good graces (their mainly black men), white society never allows them to "turn over a new leaf." Meanwhile, someone could've been the Grand Wizard of the Klan and white folks will say:
"People are allowed to change, dontchaknow?"
I saw a post here a little while ago where some former Klansman claimed he was no longer racist and had a biracial child. The comments (here, anyway) didn't dig it, and I for one was very relieved to find that. We are overly forgiving to racists. I think in the public eye being overly forgiving is very harmful! We often do not have that level of patience with each other (but that is a different story).
I think a big difference between us (as black folks) and many of those do-good white liberals is, while they'll condemn racists (blatant ones, anyway), they're also quicker to forgive... I think they want to see them as redeeming because they see their parents, siblings, cousins, aunt/uncles, etc.
If you want to be forgiving, that's up to you; maybe you're forgiving by nature, maybe you are a Christian who believes we should forgive them as Christ forgave us, but I think it is up to the aggrieved party to decide if someone is redeemed.
Here is my thing... How much trauma did this Hazel Bryan woman cause (or contribute to?) Think about when a racist does something bad that ends up in the news... they didn't just hurt that one person, there are countless individuals you didn't see who were harmed by them in a major way or by microaggressions. All of this could be absolved with a "Uh... my bad, I guess?" We hear about racists who "changed later in life," but how much damage was done? If some white supremacists did something to you that fucked with you, do they get to wake up one day and decide "I'm a different person"? Or should there be years of penance and making up for it in some way?
Idunno, your thoughts...?

Vent Let’s switch it up for second
“If someone is a first-generation immigrant, or even a second- or third-generation descendant of immigrants, and they decide to join the military of that country, is that considered honorable or is it frowned upon?” Like if my British brotha wanted to join England military. Would that be honorable.

Discussion He said it all💯
I real life don’t have nothing to add he let it all come out😂 all I can say is he right. We often blame everybody except the older guys that push all these ignorant and outdated mindsets and beliefs and so many of them are mistaken as good leaders for the black community or the younger boys and men when they are not💯.

Shoutout to the sister Lurie Daniels Favors, this is my first introduction to her but the way she shut down all this caller’s bullshit is admirable in this day and time. The “facts over feelings” people are NEVER that. If you’re going to bother to engage with these types, don’t allow their emotions to change the discussion, facts are always on our side.

Advice For all my brothers in here that do martial arts, is 20 too late to get into it from scratch?
I’ve always been interested in martial arts, from reading all those Japanese comics about taekwondo and Muay Thai to always slap boxing with my hbs in school, after highschool ended I hopped straight into a job but lately I’ve been thinking about my passions and things I truly love to do, and fighting always gets me. If I start now can I make something shake, and how would I even start? Like where would I go if I want to start the beginning of a pro journey or something like that
