Book, online resource, and tips for White Woman in love w a Black Man
Greetings! I am a white Portuguese/American woman in a love relationship w a Black American man. I want to learn about challenges and struggles of a black man/family growing up and living in America (he’s lived in Brooklyn since he was 17 yrs old and was born and raised to 17 yrs old in Little Rock, Arkansas). Would you kindly recommend a must read selection of books and point to online resources, and maybe even highlight the main challenges I will for sure encounter, and hopefully surpass? Thank you in advance!!

I think the best thing you can do is just talk to him. He literally has first hand experience on everything you’re curious about. Also, if you’re truly interested in learning more about being a black man in America, I think actively doing your own research (such as going to the library, or using google to find resources and articles) will benefit you more than asking random people on the internet to do the work for you.

While it's great that you want to gain more insight into your partner's culture, this isn't really the right place for this question. I would direct you to r/blackmen and ask there. But check the rules first.
However, to answer your last question: racism. Be prepared to encounter racism that you wouldn't face on your own. Be open minded and supportive. And if you decide to start a family down the line make sure your children have self love and are proud of both cultures.
