Bone I.D. - N. America Help, found in a Tostitos bag
My mom just text me this photo freaking out. She found it in a Tostito’s bag she just opened. It is small, about the size of her whole thumb finger. She’s terrified it’s a rat or something, not just a chicken bone. Any help would be appreciated.

It's also half of a chicken wish bone, and the winning half.
"I wish I am not caught eating this chicken."

Please report this to the FDA. This could be a major allergy concern for people like me- the bag has an undisclosed allergen (wheat, assuming it is breaded and has sauce as it looks to have).

The USDA would be a better bet

I think for finished consumer products the USDA oversees only meat/poultry, eggs, fish etc -so they wouldn't have oversight on processed corn products. But they might be interested that a packaged product contained undisclosed poultry, so you're probably right!

I work in the 1 and only building Totinos pizza rolls are made in. The USDA oversees everything. From ingredient control, uniforms, food contact and tool color coding, down to if a empty box has a sticker on it sill. They even have 2 offices in the building despite having an actual office building half a mile away. Thats why I say go with them over the FDA. I'm yet to even SEE a FDA employee. They will take this EXTREMELY serious, trust me. (Just a heads up I couldn't find a way to word this without sounding like a know-it-all, sorry if it sounds that way)

Do you still have the bag? I'm not customer service, nor can I speak for the company, but I work at the factory, and If I find out this was from my line, I swear I imma flip my shit.

That's incredibly gross and a health hazard. I had a bag of tostitos the other day that actually had paper rubbish in it....

So you’ve discovered a bone in your unopened bag of chips and your biggest concern is that it might be a rat and not a chicken? It looks like a chicken bone to me so you are all good🤯

It's the winning half of a woodbine! Take back to the store where you bought the Tostitos to see what prize you've won.

They're going to want the UPC # of the bag and the bone if they think it truly is out of their product.
