Bone I.D. - N. America What animal is it from?

Here is what I’m guessing is a scapula of a large marine mammal. Found on a remote beach on the Alaskan peninsula on the Bering side. It’s 15” across on both axis.

Bone I.D. - Europe Skull identification help

Hi :) I work in a wildlife education centre in southern England and am going through our bone collection.

My colleague and I looked at the skulls and labelled what we could. Can anyone identify the numbered ones? Or correct any of the other IDs? I have included a close up of 8 (which looks like it is missing part of the front) and the underside of 3.

I suspect most will have been collected locally, but can't guarantee it. There were some other labels and bones in the box, including one label that said wild boar. Please let me know if any more photos or detail would be useful. I will be grateful for any help!

Bone I.D. - N. America What animal's jawbone is this is this?

Woods in Western MA, USA. I found a lot of mandibles on line with this shape but none with molars going up the back or hooking up the front of the jaw bone. I though maybe a hog? But nothing I saw looked like this. The larger molars were as large as a nickel, smaller dime sized. Anyone know what animal this is from? It’s approximately 7” in length.

Bone I.D. - N. America Is this from a deer?

First time posting! So, a deer died in my back yard a few weeks back. The carcass got dragged back and forth a few times and stayed in my yard for about 5 days until the state came to pick it up. I found a beautiful piece of jaw bone left behind by him, which is currently in the degreasing process. Today I found this piece in the yard. It's on the trail where we dragged him before. I highly suspect that this is part of him as well, but I'm not sure why the bone would break like this. The bone also looks distressed somehow (top part of the second pic). His carcass didn't have any visible injury, at least nothing looks broken.

Also, does this bone looks cooked to you? If it's impossible to to tell if it's a deer bone it's fine. I just want to make sure I'm not accidentally collecting what someone spitted out after having a BBQ rib or sth lol.

I ordered a box of (ethically sourced) bones from Etsy. All the bones were wrapped, but the skull is the only one that wasn't labeled. All the rest of the bones are North American, so I have to assume this one is as well. Any ideas?

I found this in the woods, and originally I thought it was a fox skull, but after seeing photos of other fox skulls, now I’m not sure. Is this a dog skull?

Advice Help with brittle bones/cracking skull after degreasing

Hello there! This is my first post in this sub, but I'm lurking here for some time now since I decided to clean, degrease and whiten my weasel bones, which I stored in a pickle jar for 4+ years after digging them up.

This is how the skull looks after the degreasing process. That's the only thing I did with it (besides cleaning with tap water and gentle scrubbing with an old toothbrush). Honestly, I'm pretty shocked. It wasn't that bad when I started the process, but now it seems to fall appart and I don't know what to do from here on.

Can I somehow stabilize the skull to prevent it from getting worse? Can I still bath it in hydrogen peroxide 3 % without further damage? Can I even repair it to an extent, like filling the gaps that won't close without breaking the skull with some malleable material that is either fancy looking (I was thinking about some kind of amateur-level Kintsugi) or more boney like plaster?

If nothing works I would simply put it in resin, because losing this skull would make me so terribly sad...

I was exploring a creek in eastern Ontario,Canada, and came across this "rock". I brought it home not thinking much of it but I was told it looks like a vertebrae?

Any insights on if it is and potentially what animal and time period if it is?

*used a smoke pack for size refrence. Its very heavy as well.

Art Just finished these two fish skulls. Large one is from a kingfish head that came with a surprise. Small one is from a beltfish. Both purchased, both delicious.

Both were a pain in the butt to put back together. My phone is full of gristly photos. Take a picture showing every bone as you take it off for cleaning. I’m normally not a fan of varnishing at all, it looks kinda tacky to me, but I was getting complaints over the smell even after spending days in 99% alcohol and then more days in peroxide solution. That’s OK.

I have another kingfish this size in the freezer, already half disassembled as I kept going back for “how’d that go together again?” Next up already taken apart and in alcohol is a big bull rainbow trout, in the freezer again two halibut, salmon, and a smaller trout. Mistakes made: two mummified beltfish, a halibut, and a parrotfish head, all waiting their turns.
