A movie made me really emotional
A couple weeks ago my friend and my girlfriend watched the movie “Your Name” together, our schedule is usually watching the first half one day and the second half another, and this time the movie made me really sad. It’s the kind of movie that would make a person a bit sad, but for almost a week I kept crying about it because I was really sad for the main characters. I’ve never done that before to any piece of media, the closest was when I finished another anime with my girlfriend and I was just sad for it being over. I’m doing good now about the movie, sometimes I feel sad about it but I’m not crying as much as I was before. It just feels weird to do something like that even though I’m an emotional person. I just wanted to share a bit because I think it’s ok to be emotional and I guess I want others to feel ok being sad like that. (Tbh I just have a hard time finding reasons I just like talking)

Makoto Shinkai makes excellent films that will touch anyone with a heart. If you’re still a bit sad watch “Weathering with You” - Taki and Mitsuha have a cameo in the movie, and they’re doing just fine together. Their story really did have a happy ending.😊

Weathering with you is so underrated and when I watched it a second time it wrecked me.
“I just want to see her one more time”
Tears flowing.

I actually had to look up both the rest of the movie before we finished it and happened to find out they’re doing well together when we finished. I’m still surprised that even just finding out the ending really didn’t change how I felt until we were done. It’s honestly a great movie, and I am interested in watching Weathering with You since it seems pretty interesting!

That movie is emotional as hell. Good on you for being in touch with what you're feeling.

The ancient Greeks invented tragedies for a reason, there is a lot of sadness in the world and sometimes its helpful to be able to express this in a controlled way. Better than bottling it up and not acknowledging reality.

Art makes me cry all the time. Ever since I was a kid. Could be music, television, paintings, sculpture. I used to be ashamed of it. Now I’m grateful for it. I think it better connects me to my humanity.

The emotional connection to art is something that The Great Pottery Throwdown shows well. One of the judges has clear emotional responses to the work, effort, and presentation to some of the items. A bit of a comparison is GBBO and the "Hollywood Handshake" which is a choice the judge makes, but on the pottery show, it is clearly a direct emotional reaction.

Last week I saw the movie "sometimes I think about dying" and it made me so emotional simply because I felt seen and recognized by a movie for the first time in maybe ever.
Unfortunately I don't easily cry these days, but that got a few tears out of me and it honestly felt great. It's tough to unlearn the "boys don't cry" bullshit we've been taught but when you do you discover that being an emotional human being can be pretty amazing.
I'm usually not an anime guy but I'll put Your Name on my watchlist. Sounds interesting enough.

I was always the kind of kid to cry a lot. I don’t even know where it started where I did it less but this was just a huge wave of sadness I’ve never felt before

Sad songs are where my feels come out. Weird little lines too, they hit me just right.
