Deal or No Deal control panel for Teknoparrot

My family has been getting more into redemption style arcade games so I wanted to make a Deal or No Deal panel that resembled the original game. Popped the buttons apart and made decals for them, milled out mdf for the base, and drew up some art for the overlay. Going to make a collapsible podium to pack it away when it’s not in use.

Looking to expand my games library beyond just classic arcade games/NES/SNES/Sega Genesis. Got any recommendations for MS-DOS games that play well on a cabinet?

As the title says. My cab will have the common franken-panel with 4 players with 8 way sticks, one 4 way stick, a trackball, a spinner, and one analog stick (plus the common buttons).

I am trying to think of games that play well with just a keyboard/d-pad, OR non-hectic mouse movements. I can scroll and click with a trackball, but I sure AF don't want to play something like Quake on one.

Any recommendations?

At Games Legends Arcade support blows

Upvotes

Bought an At Games legends arcade game from a neighbor. Buttons didnt work so reached out to customer support for help. They said buy another controller circuit board and install. I did and also updated the software which actually made the joystick also fail. Reached out to customer support several times over past month and nothing…… looked up my ticket and they closed it after I bought the item. No way to return board and no additional responses.

Usually i make retro arcades with raspberry pi`s, but now have switched to playstation arcades - better graphics and the young audience don`t always want retro games :D . This one comes with 32 inch screen, playstation 4, 2 brooks chips, and wifi relay and esp32 chip (to switch buttons on/off via wifi). This is my own design , if you need files or advice, let me know. We sell these for around 1400 - 3000 euros (playstation included) .

[wts] 1981 ms pac man and super cherry master PAIR

I’m not sure what these are worth now, I’ve originally posted before. I’ve got the ms. pacman playable, but she’ll glitch out occasionally. Super cherry master has a super dim display where you can barely see it. I’m too chicken to mess with the crt, I don’t have a death wish. No keys. Any new or updated information anyone can provide would be appreciated greatly!

Analog arcade joystick

Hi,

If I want to build an arcade machine with an Xbox 360 (or Xbox One) inside what kind of joysticks would I need for the control panel to be able to play Xbox games?

I tried the most popular option (Sanwa JLF) and it works great for some "arcade style" games and with a Raspberry Pi emulator like Batocera for older systems, but that is a 4/8 way digital joystick and doesn't work with any title that requires precise control (for example Luxor).

Is the UltraStik 360 the only choice here, or do folks usually have an Xbox/PS controller for any gen5+ console games at the ready?

I remember playing a Minecraft Dungeons arcade with my kids last time I hit the arcades and it had a joystick that looked like a regular arcade joystick from the outside but I believe was analog as it allowed full range of motion (direction-wise).

Thanks!

[Europe] Does anyone have experience with arcade-expert.nl from the Netherlands?

Hi,

i am thinking about getting a standup arcade cabinet from: https://arcade-expert.nl/2-Spieler-Almighty-NEO-GEO-/-Metal-Slug-Custom-Aufrechter-Arkadenkast

If you put in the parts you want, you end up with costs north of 2000 euros, so i want to make sure they have a decent product. Shipping it back to them is quiet costly to say the least, so there is a bit of risk involved.

Does anyone have experience with them? Sadly there is no rec room master here in Europe and shipping from the US comes with too much added cost :(.

They were in my office in our previous place so they always had stuff on them and thus I hardly ever played them. They are now in a dedicated rec room and will always be ready to play at the push of a button.

Henlo frens,

My name is Toby and I'm the face behind Next Level Arcade Club. The Next Level Arcade Club is an Arcade association in Eastern Switzerland. For the last 5 years we ran an arcade here in town but then we decided to close it down because too little customers...

My YouTube channel is still running though, it mainly covers restorations and repairs along with pickup videos and other arcade related stuff. It's filmed in a VLOG-Style so you always know what's up with my projects.

Check it out if you're interested!

Bartop Donkey Kong Cabinet Based On Haruman Custom’s Kit

Saw his diy kit online preassembled by a third party for $600 and said “fuck that I’m gonna make it from Scratch for like $150”

$350 and 50 hours of labor later it was done lol. Shoutout to Haruman Customs for selling me the plans so I could get the dimensions just right. I learned how to use a plunge router at least but I don’t know why I felt the need to cut out the pocket holes and everything. Very rewarding project regardless of the struggle!

I use to make full size arcade machines as a hobby, but due to space restrictions, I started making quarter scale machines. Still fully playable, multi game machines and they play great 👍 not sure what my next project will be yet.

My (very basic) Instagram if you would like to see it in action. https://www.instagram.com/miniquarterarcades?igsh=MWN5dHZzcDR3YmQ5aw%3D%3D&utm_source=qr

I've been wanting a candy cab for a long time. It's a life long dream to have one. I love one that is easy for a beginner to set up. Something universal, easy to set up, able to swap boards and what not

Can I hook up my control panel to all my pc + consoles at once?

Between X-Box, PS4/5, Switch and PC I have an amazing collection of arcade games with plenty of space because it’s just a pedestal.

Can I use 4 Brook Universal Boards and a combination of supplies to get everything hooked up all at once. I got the HDMI situation sorted out but I don’t want to switch the control panel to a different console and pc each time to play a new game. Saw it setup on a YouTube video but the guy went into no details what so ever.

Anyone do more of a redemption-focused home arcade?

Edit: games like Hoop it up, Cyclone, Ice Cold Beer, skee ball, even something like spider stomping/ speed of light. Games that are more competitive or skill based which aren’t all that easy to win.

MAME 0.280

MAME 0.280

It’s been a month, so it must be time for MAME 0.280 to be released! One interesting addition this month is the very rare 1986 arcade game 119 from Coreland and Sega (the game is named after the ambulance/fire emergency telephone number used in Japan). If you’ve been following along with the work on Namco System 23 emulation, you can now see several more video hardware features emulated. Sound issues in Konami’s Golfing Greats have finally been fixed properly.

You’ll also find improved Acorn BBC Micro emulation, a few more working TV games and handheld multi-game systems, and quite a few more playable video gambling systems. Improvements to Mega Drive emulation fix issues with some of the more sensitive games on the system. A number of graphical glitches plaguing arcade games have been solved, too.

You can read about everything we’ve been working on over the past few weeks in the whatsnew.txt file. As always, source code and 64-bit Windows binary packages are available from the download page.
