Hello everyone! I hope it’s okay to share this here. We are students currently working on a research study about the development of alternative calligraphy ink.

As part of our study, we prepared a short survey to learn about the common problems calligraphers experience with ink such as feathering, smudging, bleeding, drying, clogging, and storage issues. The insights we gather will really help us in improving our ink development and making it more suitable for both beginners and professional artists.

I’ve been teaching myself calligraphy and calligraffiti for a little more than a year now. I’ve been messing with some medallion designs for the past week after seeing some of the posts on here.

I’m pretty happy with this one except for maybe the center and the outer ring with the randomized horizontal strokes. I want to create rings that juxtapose horizontal stroke flow with vertical stroke flow, but I have a much harder time doing that in the horizontal orientation. But I welcome all feedback and tips since I’m pretty early in my journey here!

If been doing graffity for a year but only just started calligraphy, any Printers or tips to learn?

I did the piece on the left and the calligraffiti within the larger mashup on the right. Such a cool process on this one workin with the homies.

Pretty pumped to be a part of this mural festival and with such a solid wall! If you are in the area, please come by and say hey!

We have a pretty loose theme that I am excited about. That being said, I have no plan for what I am actually going to be doing. Sometimes the best productions come out of that winging-it collaboration, especially with the artists i am working with.

Feel free to suggest something but likely all plans will go out the window on site. I do love working on CMU walls because there is a pretty easy regular grid to work with already drawn! I have done some sweet pieces using the grid in the past, like southwestern rug patters, chevrons, obv circles, etc.
