Yup and only the rest of the world can afford it.

Lol yeah as a poor person I've never been allowed in to see much other than the public areas

This doesn't seem like a legal flight. Very strict airspace there.

yeh , very close to a bunch of helipads

And prohibited airspace over the harbour, amateur drones are painful to deal with at times during scenic flights

Very generic architecture. That is quite sad as you could lift and shift those buildings pretty much anywhere in the world for all the character they have. No sense of place at all.
The setting itself looks great.

Why do so few people get this. I wish the Western Cape had a style we all could stick to. The Cape-Dutch style in the Winelands region is really stylish and can be found everywhere, but is largely limited to old buildings. New construction is just monotonous trash.

The Marina, I stayed there once, to be honest it kinda sucked. It's beautiful but just a bunch of tourists, it doesn't breathe, there's no community or soul
It would probably be a vibrant and fantastic spot if people actually lived there
If you walk from town to the V&A along the canal, you'll come past there and see it

You can take a canal cruise there to explore. It's the same company that runs the red buses. It's quite a nice experience, if the weather is good.

Nice to be stinking rich. I remember when this was fuel storage in a very large hole
I remember partying at The Ferrymans and there was not much else around apart from a dodgy 34 hour shop and a few hookers...
Then they built Berties on the other side..
The harbour had a soul and culture... now its all just generically bland like most stuff nowadays

While the rest of the city is failing apart. Only the wealthy can afford to live here now.

Is this from a tourist perspective or local ? Because I hate that place [speaking from a local]. It’s the fact that V&A is full of these tourists thinking they own the place. Full of arrogance and makes it very uncomfortable to share the space. Just my perspective

Everyone, tourism makes up a fairly big chunk of our GDP.

That's how a tourist economy works. Do we not understand economics here? That money goes into the economy, it's not stuffed under the owners mattress...

Rat infested 💩hole and don't forget about the teenage gangsters fighting turf wars at the mall.

World class overpriced tourist trap. It's just a giant mall. Boring. Utterly overpriced waste of space. Not helping local economy in any way

Would be great if the difference between affluent areas and middle income areas weren't so jarring.

I'm just amazed someone managed to film this without capturing any of the endless construction work!
