Always adopt bonded kitties! My mom fosters cats and had to foster fail two at once because one needs a lot of medical care and one is a flame point. They are super bonded, but she was worried that people would much rather adopt a blue-eyed flame point than a one-eyed black kitty with lots of special needs. They are absolutely inseparable and I’m glad my parents kept them. They are always napping together when I come visit!
edit- I should add that the black kitty is an absolute sweetheart and is thriving despite her many issues. Will sit in your lap or drape around your neck like a fancy fur scarf. Her brother is a demon with a beautiful exterior. Loves to cause chaos whenever he can and gets into everything. Not cuddly, unless it’s with his sister, and prefers to run around the house, annoying the other cats and dogs.
I ended up with six and I'm not mad about it. It's not what I wanted initially, but I have a large house that provides room for each cat to have their own spaces. I have a bonded brother and sister, a bonded momma and kitten and two others who were abandoned in my backyard.
We too adopted a brother-sister duo at 3 months old. They were up for adoption only if we took them as a pair. It’s only been two weeks and they are still adjusting to the change but they are cute as can be!
