She might be more organized than my kids when it comes to bedtime. When she realizes my kids are going to bed she’ll immediately have a snack and then use the litter box. Only then does she retire. Do all cats prepare like this? It’s so cute.

Humor My cat discovered the printer and now thinks she's the office manager

Every time I try to print something, Lucy positions herself directly in front of the printer and stares at it intensely. When the paper starts coming out, she gently pats each page like she's quality checking my work. Yesterday she actually grabbed a document in her mouth and carried it to me like she was delivering important mail. Now she sits by the printer every morning waiting for her "shift" to begin. I think I accidentally trained the world's most adorable office assistant. Anyone else have cats with weird job assignments?

We got this little guy 2 years ago, he was 4 when we got him. At that time he had VERY short hair and he was very skinny… but since owning him he has tripled in size and now has pretty long and fluffy hair. Is his hair supposed to look like this?

Medical Questions My cat fell from the 2nd floor — feeling so guilty

Hi everyone, Today something awful happened. My cat fell from our second-floor balcony. It was completely my fault — I closed the window without checking behind it, and I think she got scared and lost her balance, then fell.

She had some blood coming from her nose and I rushed her to the vet. Thankfully, they said she didn’t break anything. She does have a small crack on the roof of her mouth and a bit of blood in her nose, but the vet said she doesn’t necessarily need surgery. Right now, she’s resting at home.

I can’t stop feeling guilty that this happened because I wasn’t careful enough. I love her so much and the thought that I could have lost her is terrifying.

Has anyone had experience with cats healing from a mouth injury like this? Anything I should pay extra attention to during recovery?

Adoption My Cat Deserves Better. Need Help.

I adopted my cat, Darby, four years ago, and she is the most perfect, sweetest, and calmest soul I've ever known. She was a constant presence during my five years of college, an emotional support animal who helped me get through some of the toughest times in my life. Now, I feel I'm failing her.

I’m a 23-year-old recent college graduate, and my current living situation with my parents isn’t the right fit for her. She's confined to a single bedroom because of my family's dogs and doesn’t get enough natural light or space to thrive. I work a lot and can't give her the consistent attention and stimulation she deserves. It's heartbreaking to see her seem so lonely.

On top of this, Darby has chronic health issues. She suffers from reoccurring feline stomatitis and arthritis in her paws, which are only temporarily managed with steroid shots. Vets have suggested dental extractions, but I simply cannot afford the consistent medical care she needs. The thought of her being in pain because of something I can’t provide is what hurts most of all.

I refuse to send her back to a shelter. She was a deemed as a non sociable cat when I adopted her and kept in cage within a kennel of free roaming cats. I can't bear the thought of her being cooped up again. I am looking for a compassionate and financially stable person—a couple, single woman, or small family with no other pets—who can give her the life she deserves. She needs a home where she can roam freely and receive consistent medical care.

I will not hand her off to just anyone. I’m well aware of the sickos out there. I need to be confident that you are a kind and loving person who will provide the best possible home for her. My only goal is to find someone who will cherish her as much as I do. Finding the right person is my biggest priority in life right now. She deserves so much more than I can offer her, and I'm praying the perfect person is out there for her.

I was feeding my kitten yesterday and accidentally some formula fell on her eye, she kept eating no problem and went to sleep, this was yesterday night, this morning she had a little eye bugger (don’t know the exact name in english) but otherwise seemed fine, however today it seems like her eye is a little swollen (picture attached)

Should I take her to the vet? does anybody have any advice?

Advice I brought my cat outside. Does she hate it?

3.6k Upvotes

Long story short, I adopted my cat from off my back porch about a year and a half ago. She has shown Very little interest in going back outside but Loves to look out the window and screen door. She does really well on her harness and I put her in it whenever we’re traveling. Today I thought I’d let her hang out outside with me and she immediately laid down on the grass in my yard and we walked around it for a little bit. Her tail is definitely saying Something here but I can’t quite figure it out. We were only outside for about 10 minutes until I started walking back towards the front porch and she followed. Does she like it??? I thought a little outside time would be good enrichment, but she seems very content with the AC now.

At only 8 years old you left us. You entered my life as a stranger on a random snowy day but you left as a member of my family, surrounded with love. You would always follow us around, joining us on our walks or escorting me to the bus stop every morning. You were always a special cat, I have been told that you are a guardian/familiar by the way you appeared when I needed you the most. You loved the outdoors, especially the forest. And today, this is where we laid you to rest, on the path where we would usually walk. Grief is never easy. I miss you and I love you.

Cat Picture - OC MY SHELTER CAT GOT ON THE COUCH FOR THE FIRST TIME

Post image

I've had Sushi for about a year and a half now and she didn't seem to know how furniture worked because she was feral for the first 4 years of her life. Well today, she surprised me by jumping on the couch! I'm so proud of her! She is skittish still but she is laying down and grooming herself. I want to cry.

Cat Picture - OC My cat and I just left an abusive relationship and I was having a panick attack and she laid on me and started purring. Then everytime I’d pet her she’d rub her nose on my hand (one of my stims is touching animals noses when anxious/having intrusive thoughts/panic attacks)

She's my anchor right now. I have so much PTSD revolving around her because I almost didn't get to take her with me because she got hid by my neighbor while I was in the hospital. I had to call the police to get her back. But this little moment right here, she's everything to me. I can't leave her for more than a hour or two right now and she wants to be by my side constantly or at least in the same room as me. We both went through so much and I pray we are on our way to better days.

Adoption I feel like I’m besties with my cat

I adopted Bonnie in June from the RSPCA. My mental health has improved so much since living with her, and we get on so well. I love her temperament, she’s not a fan of belly rubs or being picked up, which I’m quite happy with. She loves to be in my space, and the little nose rubs and head butts mean the world to me. She always sleeps on my bed and nuzzles into me, it’s so cute. What’s your favourite thing about your cats character?
