Nice set, where did you get them?

The Chess House set's pieces look intentionally shortened.

It seems that way, but not by much. The height of the king in the Chess House set is 42.5mm, on the Italian website it's advertised as 45mm. One can argue that the 5% difference is noticeable in a side-by-side comparison but not when viewing the sets individually.

For US-based players facing steep import fees shipping costs the chess house product might be an option to consider.

Thank you for the kind and honest feedback. I am not living in the US and sadly, the current situation has made it unfavourable for us living outside of the US to buy from US merchants.

Oh, I understand absolutely. I think that US citizens are only now going to be used to a scenario thast's been reality for Europeans and Canadians for many years: to buying overseas is a costly experience.

For anyone in Europe it would be insanity to buy from an American retailer like Chess House when the same product is available from within the EU.

Exactly, at first I really wanted the Chesshouse set, but all the tariffs and shipping made it not worth it. Same with UK shops. But fortunatelly, there are some great shops in the EU.
