Plastic/resin Handcrafted glow-in-the-dark chess set
Really excited to share this blitz set I’ve been working on! So many materials and techniques went into making it, resin was just one of them. There are LEDs in the board too so it lights up or glows-in-the-dark when charged by UV. What are your thoughts about it? I’m happy to share more on the creation process if you have any questions.

That’s awesome man! So many nights out with the homie where light was a problem but a chess match was brewing lol this would have been super clutch!
I almost forgot to ask lol what material did you use on the board so the light can shine through?

Aww no way, that would’ve been perfect haha! I used opal acrylic on the board😊

How did you make the board? Id love try my hand at it myself if it wasn't too-too complicated

The board was laser cut and engraved in opal acrylic (translucent for light to shine through), and the outer walls are laser cut black perspex. I installed LEDs inside the board and put UV glow resin in the engraved bits of opal acrylic for it to glow in the dark 😊 are you a maker by any chance or were you thinking as a hobby?

Beautiful job. Very cool looking for sure. How many hours to make?
I am finishing up a neo-classical chess set out of black and white limba woods.
Hand cut on a scroll saw. I am posting shortly.
