Wooden Chess Set I just finished - Wood hand cut

I finished another hand-cut chess set, my previous set was a venice inspired. This was hand cut on a scroll saw, this one is a neoclassical made from black limba and white limba. I am corking the bottoms now for the final touch. I'll have close to 40 hours in this set.

My one regret is using the polyurethane to finish. I should have stuck with Danish oil for the finish, I think this finish looks too thick.

I added another image to the body of the post of the front. Could not add to the image carousel. Also, I just finished corking the white pieces in this image.

That looks absolutely stunning. you're very talented at woodworking. well done! see if you can get some images of the world championship sets they play with and see if you can recreate that set... i'd love to see that. those pieces they play with are lovely
