Wooden Custom chess table - by my dad and me
Made a table stand with my dad and it turned out pretty well. Got the suggestion from r/chess this might fit here as well. Bought the board off eBay but the stand was all made by hand. Hope you like the idea.

Wooden A chess board & table I crafted for my home [4032x3024]
Solid wood, handmade heirloom chess table. A lot of love went into this.
Woods used: - Black Walnut (table) - Curly Maple (board) - Bolivian Rosewood (board squares) - Ebony (board border) - Zebrawood (inlay)
Finish: Hand rubbed Danish oil
Pieces are boxwood/ebonized boxwood sourced from Royal Chess Mall.
I’ve had multiple friends suggest I begin a business making these. I do believe there is a lack of quality chess tables out there. I just don’t think people will be willing to pay for the work/craftsmanship required to make this in today’s society, but I’d love to be proven wrong.

Wooden $30 Local Find
2" squares and 19.5" overall. It appears to be ash burl and birdseye maple (erable). Seller was a thrifter and said she bought this board for decoration. She collects plates and glassware, so her ad described it could be used as a serving tray.
I thought it looked like an Italfama from Italy or Rechapados Ferrer from Spain. I'm leaning toward Rechapados, but haven't seen an exact match with the black/blonde border. All others seem to have a solid black line.
Second pic shows it with the Revanche size #6 pieces I posted a couple of weeks ago. This is my largest and nicest set now. For under $100 total, it is definitely my luckiest set.

Wooden Just got my antique travel set! Pics as promised.
Just received my travel set and had a look. Much bigger board and kit than I expected. 3” kings. Board is 16” x 16”. No markings anywhere that I can see but everything appears beautifully made and holds a nice rich patina and lots of dirt from years of play and storage. I’ve been digging around and still can’t find a similar set-so any additional thoughts let me know:)

Wooden 80+Yo chess table
This chess table belonged to my great grandfather who gave it to my grandfather and he gave it to me. The chess table is over 80 years old now (i'm 31). Currently using staunton chess pieces (German Knight set size 5). The chess pieces are new since we didn't have the pieces of my great grandfather anymore.

Wooden Purchased my first set to collect
I went ahead and purchased for $60. I do like the night, but the bishop looks a little like a certain object that you would stick certain places. They feel weighted? I don't have anything to compare it to but they're definitely heavier than my other set.
Can somebody tell me if they're lacquered or not? I'm trying to learn about what makes a chess set "nice"//and the craftsmanship.
How would you guys rank the craftsmanship of this set?

Wooden New board arrived
My new board arrived today from HoS. Vavona burl and maple. It has 2.5" squares and is framed and bordered beautifully. Everything pops nicely and doesn't seem distracting. Smooth transaction and quick shipping HoS.
Thoughts?

Wooden Rate my boards
1st is all wood, it's a folding set, handmade, 2nd is also wood, but kinda cheep, I mainly bought it because it had the same peices for my main one and I needed the extra queen I lost. 3rd one is the main set, I like it the most because it feels nice to move the peuces on and it makes the chess com move and capture sound exactly same

Wooden Just got a new board for my new Jaques!
Just received this new board to go with my Jaques drop jaw set I posted a week or so ago. The board is unmarked but is quality with I think rosewood, walnut, and ?poplar? Measures 20.5” x 20.5” with 2” squares-not sure how old so I’ll say ca. 1900. Also just got my ca. 1860 set back from Ron Fromkin who did an excellent job with restoring a few of the pieces.

Wooden New Chess Pieces
I always wanted a beautifully carved set. I just received this set, and need advice on a board that will fit/compliment them... I absolutely love the pieces, but they need a board with 2.5" squares. I am thinking ebony/maple or burled walnut and maple... any suggestions or links? I don't mind the look of this board but it is not of a quality commensurate with the pieces. Appreciate any input.

Wooden Drueke 82040 Chess Set?
I recently obtained this set that appears to be a Drueke 82040, sold in the 1980s-1990s. It is weighted and felted with King height of 3.5". Some describe this set as American Staunton, while others say it was made for Drueke in India. Early versions were made from Indian Rosewood (now endangered) and maple. I do believe this is Indian Rosewood due to the dark and contrasting grain. I don't think the lighter wood is boxwood because it has clear and denser grain. The bishops are distinctive with an angular head, but appear skinnier than other Drueke examples I've seen. Later 82040 sets may have changed to a different style bishop. Any confirmation or clarification of manufacturer and origin is appreciated.

Wooden I'm looking for this chess set.
I'm looking for this chess set with these exact design of the pieces. I don't know if they're custom made or not. If they are please help me find something similar, thank you!
