In Dali for a few days. This is not the flashiest thing I've eaten there, but it was very good. Homemade noodles provided by the hotel, a small family run hotel, cooked in front of us.

Recipe from The Mala Market. Highly recommended making. The braised beef is so aromatic and spicy and the noodles are wonderfully toothsome and slippery. Super easy too compared to other noodles.

Hi, whenever I try attempt to make pineapple buns there just something that’s not right about it?? They taste nice but not like the ones in Hong Kong or the Chinese bakeries. There crust is like got granules of sugar?? And not as puffy, idk 🫠 what is the secret to the bakery style pineapple buns?

I’ve heard many use lard too but I’ve never seen any recipes including that, TIA

Won’t say where it is but it’s not in China, The Chongqing noodles were the best, spicy meaty and flavorful

I cooked a pack of wonton noodles for the first time and realised I messed up after the fact. The package didn’t have instructions so I boiled them for about 3-4min which was way too long. The flour turned it all into a gluggy solid mass. I used some for wonton noodle soup and it separated fine in the soup. How can I salvage the rest of it? I don’t have anymore soup, I was hoping to fry the rest with veggies - will this turn it into even more of a goopy mess?

Googling doesn’t yield(well at least in my geolocation) a list or image where every Lao Gan Ma bottle is listed. If there’s a bottle missing, you can comment with an image so it can be seen by future searchers. 🤣 btw, I did not include the Lao Gan Ma hotpot soup bases.

A lot of recipes I see mention chilli "crisp" or "crunch" and I can't find it. This looks like it but it says "paste" even though the price says crisp and it looks chunky not like a paste. Is this what I'm looking for??
