Buying Advice Why is the Lenovo Chromebook Plus 14 Unavailable Anywhere (US)?

I like those guys, but they are giving it too much credit. I had it for a week and took it back because it was not that dynamically better than a i3 Chromebook besides better battery time (but the screen is great for 4k)
Look at my recent post for my review, but for $750 I expected a lot more out of the chip which often stumbled and couldn't handle a lot
I also believe they made a limited batch to start to see the sales number

It's just sold out at Lenovo. I bought mine from Bestbuy and had no issues at all. Perhaps stock is out there as well? It's proving to be very popular and has been widely acclaimed so I imagine everyone wants one now.

Yeah maybe they weren't anticipating its popularity.

I know I was shocked when I saw it out of stock at Lenovo which is why I bought it from Best buy. And that's what I thought too. It's been praised as the next Pixelbook and that's huge.

It's a worthy successor and pretty damn close to the pixel book. Having owned both the i7 Pixelbook and the i7 Pixelbook go, I give them the edge in terms of overall experience.

Have you ordered on US Lenovo before? I ordered the Chromebook 14 yesterday before it went out of stock again. However, I noticed that there is a CO retail delivery fee even though I don't live in Colorado. Does Lenovo charges this fee to everyone?

It's sold out it's literally the highest selling Chromebook on the market right now.

I doubt it. It's just the only widely available premium Chromebook thus everyone who wants a premium Chromebook (literally nobody..) tries to get one. I was lucky to get mine in Germany and probably a dozen other lucky people before it sold out.

It's not a large market, but there is pent up demand for people interested in premium Chromebooks. There hasn't been anything good on the market for nearly 2 years.

From what I’ve seen, Lenovo didn’t make a ton of these to begin with. A lot of people said Best Buy had stock for a bit, but they went quick after the reviews. Lenovo probably underestimated how popular it would be, so now it looks sold out almost everywhere.

Same here for the German Lenovo store. And it is not listed as available at any other retailer either. 🫠

I remember when it became available in the German Lenovo store last month it was immediately listed as "low stock" which insinuates they only had a handful devices in the first place.
Thankfully I got mine now because I waited 5 months (!) for the Lenovo Duet 11 to become available again, I hope for you it won't be the same with the Chromebook Plus 14 this time.

Random question, does the bottom panel creak/squeak when slight pressure is applied for you too?

yes, occasionally. Same for the display panel

Jeez that’s not great to hear about a $750 device

the built quality is about on par with similar priced Windows laptops.

I waited too long and now I'm on the same boat as you.
Google all but announced that it's leaving the Android tablet market again, so I decided to ditch my Pixel Tablet for the Lenovo Chromebook Plus 14 and it's not available at Best Buy.
I hope that it's restocked soon, as I don't want to get (and won't) an open box model.

On the Lenovo page it stays that the Chromebook Plus 14 is "no longer available", but when I close the pop up (the one you screenshot posted), it says "available soon".
So hopefully it's a restocking issue. There's a new model coming w/out a touch screen, 12GB of RAM and no fingerprint reader, but I'm willing to pay for the latter and extra RAM.

I ordered 35 of them for work in mid July with an ETA of 4 weeks from cdwg. I got 3 of them but still waiting for the rest.

I hope you won't be disapointed, I am more and more with mine. It is almost unusable in a work environment with an external screen and Teams. During Teams call it is "crashing" with black screens for a few seconds every 5/10mn and the sent resolution is very low most of the time. I miss my Samsung Galaxy Chromebook Plus i5.

Luckily we don’t use teams or external screen use. Teacher laptops are for portable use only. They have desktops with large screens hooked up to large displays in the classroom.

I was literally at Best Buy yesterday and there were like 12 sitting on the shelf
