Discussion Beta v140 - Pinned Files Icon

There are times when I pin files and the icon on the quick launch shelf serves a purpose. It is annoying to have the pinned files icon on the shelf when there are no pinned files. I don't need a permanent icon to remind me I can pin files. Is there a way to hide this useless icon when there are no pinned files? TIA

This icon appears if at least one of the following three conditions is met: 1) you have pinned any files, 2) you have taken any screenshots, 3) you have downloaded any files.

This means that simply not pinning any files is not enough to hide the icon.

Also, don't forget that if you have previews enabled, you can turn them off to make the icon smaller and less noticeable.

Thanks for your reply, but none of the three are present and the icon just appeared after updating to v140. The icon always disappeared when I removed any file that would trigger it, but this one just sits there with no purpose.

Hi, there are three possibilities: either it's a new bug in the beta, or a future change for the stable channel, or you overlooked some trigger. So let's wait and see. In any case, if you're sure it's a bug, report it in the standard way.

Thanks. Waiting to see if it goes away in Stable v140 is all I can do.
