Options Other Than Bottle Carbonation

Hey folks,

Pretty much what the title suggests.

I have made 14 batches over the past five years, and every one of them has been bottle carbonated. I don't have a kegging setup, and I can't force carbonate with my current equipment.

What other options exist besides adding priming sugar and relying on suspended yeast to create some bubbles?

Still cider.

That hasn't been on my radar, but I appreciate the reminder cider isn't automatically bubbly.

Look into German style ciders from near Frankfurt for inspiration. There are other stull ciders as well, of course.

Introduce an MLF culture at bottling. The amount of CO2 won't be as easy to control and it'll alter the flavor of your cider (possibly even bottle to bottle), but it's technically a form of carbonation. Oh, and it won't work if your cider already underwent a spontaneous MLF.
