Performance Started learning Evocacion by Merlin Friday

Such a gorgeous tune. First half is pretty much there. Second half is gunna be a little more difficult. Some awkward movements with the pinky. Loving it so far.

Wonderful! I felt the video fall away and really just got lost in the found for a minute.

Nice. I started learning it last week and got to pretty much the same place (although not as smooth as you on the way) I’m playing on an Eastman steel string to be fair, but have a nice Cordoba c10 in the post so looking forward to continuing on that when it arrives.

I recently learned this piece as well. Someone posted it here in the sub and it really stood out to me, and others too apparently. It's truly a beautiful composition.

You have the first section nailed. I like to play the final measures of the first section (Em->B7->Em) further up the neck, as those strings give a richer tone and the higher frets lend themselves much more to vibrato. A bit trickier, but worth it.

The second section is altogether way harder, with the series of difficult barres. It took me 4x longer to learn than the first.

You play very well, thanks for sharing.
