I'm have been working through preseason rosters, schedules, etc. building a preseason tier list of teams for the upcoming season. However, no one digs into their team's potential in the offseason more than their fans! Below, I have my first draft of a Preseason Tier List. What I would like you to do is make the case for your team. Are they too high? Too low? Fair? Make your case and I will take all of the info into account, and then post my updated tier list on Friday. (I know, the anticipation is tremendous.)
Conditions:
- You can only argue for your team. No UNC fans telling me why Duke is gonna suck this year.
- Your reasoning has to include at least some logical reasons. Not just, "They suck!" Gotta explain why.
- Reasoning can be as statistical or non-statistical as you want. Is it based on shot quality? BPR? Or did your dead cat tell you in a dream you were gonna win it all? Either works here (provided your dead cat is good at predicting team success).
Here are my preliminary tiers (no particular order in each tier):
Tier 1: UConn, Houston, Florida, St. John's
Tier 2: UK, Michigan, Purdue, Texas Tech, BYU
Tier 3: Illinois, UCLA, Alabama, Duke
Tier 4: Louisville, Michigan St, Oregon, Arkansas, Creighton, Tennessee, N.C. State, Arizona, Kansas
Tier 5: Texas, Auburn, Iowa St, Gonzaga
EDIT: legitimately forgot to include Louisville. Fixed it. Sorry Cards fans, I know how it looks.
