Please disregard the "virus" you see written on the drive. That's just what I named the drive.
I've got two identical drives (Hitachi Deskstar 1TB 3.5" SATA 3.0Gb/s./7200RPM). They have been sitting in a broken desktop for a few years. I finally got a USB adaptor today and decided to hook them up and copy the files to a new drive. After hooking up the first drive, it started making this clicking sound, but eventually showed up in the "This PC)" folder on my computer and I was able to copy the files. Now it shows up every time I connect it. Great!
However, I'm not so fortunate with the second drive, it makes the same clicking sound but never shows up in my "This PC" folder. After a few minutes, it eventually stops clicking and pretty much gives up, never showing up. I'm afraid the drive might be dead or something. Is there anything I can do to recover the files from the second drive? I keep unplugging and replugging it in, hoping it might work one of these times.
