A Cowboy's Journey to Islam

Assalaamu alaykum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatu

Has anyone read "How the Bible Led Me Home: A Cowboy's Journey to Islam"?

My friend picked me up a copy, and I'm about halfway through now. It's the strangest thing - I feel like it is written in "my voice". He processes through so many things that I have both before and after coming to Islam.

I also am trying to figure out how to get my family to read it without feeling "attacked". I'm sure there is a way to phrase it to get someone to read it with an open mind...

Most family members don't like reading.

You can always invite the author & his family to visit your home, and also try to invite your family.

Abdullah reported Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) as saying: Ruined, were those who indulged in hair-splitting. He (the Holy Prophet) repeated this thrice.

Sahih Muslim 2670 https://sunnah.com/muslim:2670 - other translators translate المتنطعون as "the extemists".

My family reads quite a bit, mom usually 30+ books and sister 60+ books annually. I don't live in the same country as them, and they don't live anywhere near the author.

Perhaps a suggestion that isn't based on faulty assumptions?

I'm also not certain what the relevance of your quote is, if you care to expand?
