Housing/Στέγαση Renting a home for 3 months

Hi all,

My partner and I have visited Crete several times on holiday and fallen in love with the place and the people.

We now want to explore living in Crete for 3 months (which is the longest we can stay without a visa), and doing our current jobs remotely.

Does anyone have any info about renting property on this basis?

Are there homes you can rent for 3 months or do most places have a 12 month minimum rental period?

How long does it take to get a rental agreement set up?

Are there any restrictions, such as do we need residency to have a rental agreement?

Thanks in advance for any advice you can give us.

In which area of Crete would you want to live and when are you planning to do so? I could offer a fully equipped holiday apartment near Georgioupolis. This summer is pretty much fully booked.

Ideally, we’d like to be in Agios Nikolaos. We’re also looking at Chania. We would prefer to be somewhere urban. This would probably be next year, September to November.
