Landscapes/Τοπία Crete through my eyes - April to August

Shot on my older Samsung Galaxy, as I seldomly take my camera with me.

I'm by no means a professional photographer, but I have a real love for it as a hobby and often plan my hikes with photography in mind. I try to keep my pack light when hiking, and thankfully, a phone usually does the job. Crete, however, is so stunningly beautiful that I find myself running out of storage space far more often than I'd like!

I just returned home from Crete and this just brought back all the happy memories from my trip. Brilliant capture of a place...

Lovely photos. The 4th one that's the Manassa Rose shipwreck in Kissamos Bay isn't it. Have they still not scrapped it?

Thx! Yes that's the one. They didn't scrap it, it's now more or less a tourist attraction. They offer boat tours and all that.

Beautiful. One can almost think there are no tourists:)

I usually avoid crowded places with a lot of tourists, there are surprisingly still a lot of places where I can enjoy the solitude. But I am up and on my hikes often at 6 am-ish, which beats the crowds as well hehe.

If you’re still there, or planning to go back, I highly recommend hiking the aradena gorge. It’s really beautiful and special and much more isolated than Samaria and the others.

I've already been, thank you! Maybe you could also try the Diktamos Gorge. I was always on my own hiking it, no crowds, quiet, pretty and a biiiit of climbing.

I try to take them when the sun is low, so either sunrise or sunset. This gives the best colours. But of course, I also correct them if I have overexposed or underexposed pics for example. But yeah, I am here for a while now (on and off) and know some very pretty corners. 😊
