Arthritis and cycling

Over the past year, as a complication to spinal stenosis, I have developed arthritis in my right knee. I had spinal fusion surgery a few months ago, and I’ve been cleared by the surgeon to cycle, however, my first attempt just did not feel great on my knees and I’ve lost a lot of strength. I have a history of cycling a lot, so this is pretty frustrating.

How much float do you have in your pedals? May need to move the limiter (or get some with a wider range).
