Even most feminists don't think the movies fail because men hate women, it's just the way these movies try to gain attention, making these terrible headlines
It’s called pandering. You direct your marketing and often the product, towards a specific group. In this case, it’s pandering to the people who want to push more “women are bad asses and don’t need no man” group.
This is why these movies suck, they focus too much on this aspect of putting women on pedestals instead of making a good, meaningful, cohesive story.
How is it pandering to have a movie with a female lead? Like what would they need to do for you to consider a movie like The Marvels to not be pandering? Just change the characters to men?
I can read, but I can't understand this if you don't have any rationale behind your argument. I know what pandering is. What I'm asking you is to explain what about a movie like The Marvels makes it pandering. What would you want hem to do different to unpanderize it?
If you can’t understand at this point I’ve done all I can for you. I’ve explained it to you as plainly as I could so either A: you CAN read but you DIDNT. Or B: you can’t read.
You gave a very broad explanation that doesn't really say anything or have any evidence behind what you're saying. I'm pointing that out and asking for specific examples of what a movie like The Marvels could do differently, and for some reason you're having a meltdown instead of just giving a simple answer.
Anyway my point here is that you'll complain that it's pandering no matter what they do. You can't seem to give any real examples of how an audience of people like you could feel that a movie isn't pandeing other than just saying "make the movie good".
Bro are you intentionally ignorant? I literally said if they stop focusing on making the story about the women being women, it wouldn’t suck donkey dick. That’s all the point ever was. We just want a good story not a focus on the fact that the lead is a woman. I’m having a damn meltdown because people with thick heads can’t seem to ever actually read that part of any of these posts or comments and act like it doesn’t exist. Like I said before you clearly didn’t read my comment.
Let me give you a small example. If a group of women lead characters say a bunch of lines like “ who needs men” or shit along that line. It’s immediately off putting and has no relevance to the story and is never ever a funny “joke”. Just focus on the story not what you have inside your pants. It goes against the idea of cranial equality of all genders and backgrounds.
Basically: They specifically made a movie not for it to be entertaining, but to make a movie specifically to attract a certain group without putting in effort
Movies like The Marvels their whole thing is about "look! Look! Women!", kinda like how Big Bang Theory is all "Look! Look! Nerds!", being one of the main reasons why Big Bang Theory is hated by most nerds
They're basically trying milk money out of a specific group instead of focusing on the art of the film. It's not a bad thing if you are targeting a specific audience, but it's horrible to do it only for a quick cash grab with no effort, quality or passion put into the project
And for the question about how they're trying to get attention: The people involved with the film would try to guilt people into watching the film, making this false narrative that there are people who believe you are sexist if you don't watch the movie (theres barely anyone that says that but that's just how they're trying to gain attention for it)
Hope this answers your questions if you really are confused
