At this point, I'm not upgrading from 10 unless I absolutely have to. I run Linux mostly, just windows for the games that actually need it. I'm quite close to shooting my smartphone and dusting off the old Palm Pilot. At least it won't spy on me.

I dunno if I'm gonna get banned for this but EVERYBODY SHOULD BE USING WINDOWS 10 IOT LTSC - a lot of the bloat/spying has been cut out and you get updates until 2032. I've heard rumblings that it doesn't support some of the newer processors so your milage may vary.

Here's how:

  1. Get the ISO from here and use Rufus to flash it on to a USB. It's the unmodified ISO straight from Microsoft.

  2. BACK UP YOUR SHIT and then boot from USB and install Windows as normal. Despite some of the comments saying you need a key it's not required. JUST MAKE SURE TO PICK IOT LTSC INSTEAD OF NORMAL LTSC

  3. After Windows install is complete and you're at the desktop connect to the internet, open a powershell prompt and type:

irm https://get.activated.win | iex

Choose HWID Activation. This will activate Windows with a digital license forever even if you reformat as long as you're using the same hardware. Here is the github for the script.

You're done! Enjoy using the superior version of Windows 10 that we should have gotten all along.

Edit: I should mention that there is NO Microsoft Store in this version of windows. It's a huge plus for me since it sucks but again, your mileage may vary

I had to disable 22 cores and underclock on a new $600 intel processor to get it to be stable on Windows 10. I'll never build with Intel again.

I'm actually dreading building a new PC because I know I'm not gonna be able to put Windows 10 on it.

You can still download and install window 10 perfectly fine.

The biggest thing to look for are driver compatibility. Based on my recent build experience, Bluetooth and WiFi don’t work on my new build without external devices (which are pretty cheap to get thankfully). Windows 10 doesn’t support WiFi 7 but it can do 6 and 6e just fine.

You can install windows 10 without any problems, whats more if you are building a gaming PC, it's probably better to have windows 10 instead of 11 bc of the compatibility of games.

Windows 10 have the same thing and was popular with their keylogging/recording stuff before it released, I didnt switch until they stopped supporting the older windows lol thats how they get ya, convenience and nobody else cares so its not like it matters.

Theyre gonna do it and everyone is gonna use it anyway type shit(typical movie quote).

I'm doing the same. Not originally because of stuff like this post, but because I used windows 11 and I hated it. I much prefer the flow and design of 10, so I might as well stick with it.

It's a PDA, namely one running PalmOS. A handheld computer from the days before the smartphone, which was made by combining the traditional cell phone with a PDA. In fact the early smartphones ran the same PalmOS and windows mobile operating systems as their PDA counterparts.
