Honestly. Can we just say it’s a bad show because they made a bad show? Nothing to do with the sexuality or sex of the cast members, directors etc. It is just a bad show.

This. It feels like the little mermaid discourse all over again. The movie was bad because it sucked. No because it had a black lead.

I think most of the time people mention gender of cast/runners mainly due to show being directed in a specific way where modern realities are forced and not naturally implemented. As if showrunners are forcing a narrative in a story instead of building it up with a story.

Yes but because so many people got so pent up before the movie released then it gave fuel to that idea. If no one complained about the little mermaid having a black cctor which there is nothing wrong with then criticism could safely be made about the show. But because a bunch of racists got angry about a black woman before they saw it they made any rational criticism seem racist as well

Agree. I don’t know crap about the showrunner and don’t care. The show is awful on its own.

The cast members and directors are the ones who made it about sexuality and gender, see their interviews.

I prefer to let the work stand on its own. And in the actual show so far there is very little about that stuff.

The problem we have now is if you don't like it you're labelled an -ist or -phobe automatically. It's not the poor writing, the bad acting, the plot holes, the lack of consistency, the obvious liberal bias, and promotion of Disney's not so secret agenda.

The thing is you could have criticised it for bring bad if theire wasn't a bunch of chuds months before the release of the series complaining about a group of jedi padawns having no white male boys in the class. I mean I saw multiple highly viewed videos complaining that there wasn't enough white children in 1 frame of a trailer. And that link you posted your, acting like they are pushing some weird demonic thing when all they are doing is making up for how homophobic Hollywood and society has been in the past. What's wrong with a gay couple in the background of a show

Forced diversity is not something to strive for. They made it abundantly clear that they don't want white males, their core audience, to watch these shows. I don't care if there's women and POCs in Star Wars, but for fuck's sake, make them a good character. Every female role has been a poorly written girl boss. Respect the audience and fans of SW. 70% of the hard core fans are straight males, but they want to turn SW into a girl brand so they can sell dresses with light saber print or the god awful critters on the rock Luke was living on. Shit on your core audience and they'll turn away. Being mad about it sucks, but then apathy sets in and that's where the SW brand dies. I'm impressed at how much money Disney can lose and not fire KK.

Bro what world are you living in. How can someone be this delusional. What does a white male need in his shows to appeal to him. Your telling me if a show dosnt have a white make actor then it isn't for white males? Plus there is a thing called expanding your viewerbase. Star wars is not a girl brand. All they have done is provide a few more female role models for star wars fans. If you look at most star wars media it is still white male leads. Mandolorian, Andor, bad batch, first 6 movies, han solo movie, Clone wars series, obi wan series, Rebels, book of boba fett. All feature a male lead Compared to 3 sequel movies, Ahsoka, Acolyte, Rogue one. Which feature a female lead. Hmm star wars is definitely suited for little girls. Lol

I’ve seen the first 2 episodes and it’s bad because Disney is still trying to milk Star Wars.

Its at least is an original idea with a bit of a story

1

u/ContactIcy3963 Jun 15 '24

It does because the makers openly admit to inserting these things into the show with no consideration to the story or context

Nothing to do with the sexuality or sex of the cast members, directors etc

Yeah why would you possibly bring up these things when discussing the quality of entertainment? It's not like the writers, directors, producers, and actors constantly bring it up as a selling point, naaah we're just making it up out of nowhere.

Well no, obviously. Look at OPs history

No. If a show is very bad and people don't like it then low scores are a result of review bombing and botting. Also if you don't like it you're a bigot and a racist. What don't you understand? /s

So we just say it was a bad show for absolutely nothing?
